Student answer (Band 5.0)

peoples believe that it is best to accept a bad situation , such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of money and others disagree with them and argue that it is better to try and improve in such situations.

In our world we could see different class or different types of people with different types of wealth criteria, however some people accept a bad situation and they start living in that condition only and the others try to improve them in those hard situations, problems comes from anywhere at anytime and we should accept if anything bad happens with us but meanwhile just accepting it can cause you more hard time to live so improving or solving your problem can make a gradual ease for you, such as a person is having a unsatisfactory job he could improve and work on his or her skills so that he can get a better satisfactory job , but if a person would not likely to be improving or working on him self then he will be stuck in his unsatisfactory job which will also cause him face shortage of money even, so it is very important for us to try to improve and solve our problems which will in future make our live easy, however I have experienced it myself that improving yourself does helps you to make your live easy in future , in my starting teenage years I used to ride bicycle in the evening, I was not quite good in balancing the bicycle so my father mounted two extra side wheels on my bicycle so that I don't disbalance and fall on ground while riding , but there was a problem while these wheels where mounted on my bicycle that when every I try to make a wide turn while my bicycle is a little bit fast, there were chances of my fall from it because of the extra wheels, so I learned to balance my bicycle, which afterwards made me easy to ride.

so I think so it is better to try to improve yourself in hard situation rather that just accepting the situation and living a hard time in it , improving your situation can be a little difficult and hard sometimes but it makes ease for the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views required by the prompt—that of accepting a bad situation and that of trying to improve it—while also presenting a personal position and an illustrative example. However, the development of ideas leans heavily on repetition rather than extension. For instance, the discussion around an unsatisfactory job explains the concept well, but the supporting personal example about riding a bicycle with training wheels is only tangentially related to the main philosophical debate about job satisfaction or financial hardship. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of argument aligns more closely with Band 5 or 6 characteristics, as ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text suffers from a major structural issue: it consists of only three massive run-on paragraphs, including a single multi-sentence paragraph that spans the entire middle section. This lack of appropriate paragraphing makes the progression difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are either missing or overly simplistic, relying on basic conjunctions like 'and', 'however', and 'so' to link clause after clause without proper punctuation or full stops. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun shifts ('him self', 'he can get', 'his live'). While there is a logical overall flow from introduction to example to conclusion, the faulty cohesion and lack of paragraphing pull this criterion down to a Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and repetitive, with frequent vocabulary choices that lack precision or are misused. Examples include 'wealth criteria' instead of financial status, 'disbalance' instead of lose balance, and 'make ease for the future' instead of make things easier. Spelling errors and awkward word forms occur, such as 'peoples' instead of people, 'every' instead of whenever, and 'live' instead of life. While the vocabulary is adequate to convey the basic message and does not completely impede communication, the lack of flexibility and precision keeps it within the Band 5 range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay is dominated by long, rambling run-on sentences connected by commas rather than proper periods or subordinate conjunctions, which severely impacts grammatical control. There is a very limited range of stable complex structures, and attempts at complexity often result in grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('problems comes', 'improving yourself does helps') and tense inconsistencies. Punctuation is largely neglected, missing periods at the ends of sentences and misplacing commas before conjunctions. Because frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and simple sentence forms are poorly managed, this merits a Band 5.
