Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to discuss both views regarding accepting or trying to improve bad situations, and presents a personal opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is severely limited and often lacks clarity. For instance, the argument in the second body paragraph mentions that 'employers face many challenges through their job, this situation increase discrimination while discourage ethical behaviour,' which is difficult to follow and lacks logical connection to the prompt. The examples provided, such as the reference to BBC reporting on Nepal, are disjointed and do not effectively support the main points. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the lack of coherent thought extension and frequent lack of clarity place this response at Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses basic paragraphing, but the overall progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by confusing sentences and abrupt transitions. While some cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'To commence with' and 'In conclusion', referencing is often unclear, leaving the reader struggling to follow the argument's trajectory. For instance, the phrase 'Shifting towards final view' introduces the second body paragraph in a mechanical and unnatural way. Additionally, pronoun reference is frequently ambiguous, as seen in the sentence 'For example they face their worst situation and do the comfortable job...', where the antecedent for 'they' is unclear. These organizational and cohesive shortcomings reflect Band 4.5 to 5.0 characteristics; therefore, a band score of 5.0 is appropriate.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently showing noticeable errors in word choice and collocation that cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include 'few masses think', 'worst situation', 'scarcity of money', and 'moderate era' (likely intended to mean modern era). Words are often misused, such as 'comfortable job which have a huge salary' or 'sufficiant salary'. There are also minor spelling and typographical issues like 'beleive'. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for conveying simple meaning, aligning well with the Band 5 descriptor where errors cause some difficulty and vocabulary remains basic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex ones. Frequent grammatical errors impede readability and distort meaning. Examples include subject-verb agreement errors ('every employers face'), incorrect preposition usage ('in favour of latter notion'), and fragmented or run-on sentences, such as 'This essay will discuss the both view as far as, I am concerned in favour of latter notion.' Punctuation is also problematic, with spaces misplaced before commas and periods throughout the text. Because errors are frequent and often cause difficulty for the reader, this performance earns a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.
