Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays many people face with different circumstance such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of money and other hardships, people respond in different ways, some people think accepting reality will bring peace in thrie life while other think that active improvement will change the bad satuation into good and bring success. This essay explores both point of views and gives different circumstances.

First of all we will talk about those people who accept satuation. This decision will help them with stress because they already accepted satuation. They dont have any reason to be stressed. They does not quit their job without any planning. They tried to be calm. They continue to work if if they dont like that or it is not their level work. They just do what they are doing work harder. They dont take any risk because they are already in a very satuation.

Second people are those who try to be better do different task or different types of jobs to be better. They took risk to be better and make this satuation good. They work hard and try to be a successful person. they try to improve their statuatio. They make their unsatisfactory job to satisfactory or they quit it or do another job. They just dont sit back and watch. They can become successful.

In my opinion second option is great because by just sittimg back and doing nothing can not make us successful if we want to be a successful person we have to work hard and change the satuation or atleast improve the satuation or try to be better at our job or if it is not for us than quit it make a buisness and become successful

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on how to deal with difficult situations and clearly states the writer's own opinion in the final paragraph. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat superficial. For instance, the paragraph explaining why people accept bad situations mentions that 'This decision will help them with stress because they already accepted satuation', but the supporting arguments are repetitive and lack specific, well-developed examples. Similarly, the discussion of the opposing view relies on general statements like 'They work hard and try to be a successful person' rather than exploring concrete scenarios. While a clear position is maintained throughout, the ideas are under-developed, placing the response solidly at Band 5.5 to 6.0. Because the arguments are somewhat restricted in depth, a Band 6.0 reflects the ability to address all parts of the task with relevant, if basic, ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay has a basic structure, divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which provides a coherent overall arrangement. However, paragraphing and cohesive devices are handled mechanically and sometimes inaccurately. For example, the second body paragraph opens abruptly with 'Second people are those who try to be better', which lacks appropriate transition markers. Cohesive devices within sentences are sparse or repetitive, with sentences often strung together using commas or simple conjunctions rather than varied referencing and substitution. Furthermore, pronoun referencing can be vague, as seen in phrases like 'They dont take any risk because they are already in a very satuation.' These weaknesses in logical progression and cohesive control prevent the text from reaching a higher band, aligning it with Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling errors and awkward collocations that noticeably impact the flow of the text. Throughout the response, the word 'satuation' is misspelled repeatedly instead of 'situation', and 'thrie' is used for 'their'. Other lexical limitations include phrasing like 'bad satuation into good' and 'sittimg back'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'unsatisfactory job' and 'active improvement', but the range is narrow and minimally adequate for the task. Because the noticeable errors in word choice and spelling cause some difficulty for the reader, this performance corresponds to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic subject-verb patterns. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('She does not quit', 'Second people are those', 'doing nothing can not make us successful'), missing articles, and run-on sentences punctuated incorrectly with commas. Attempts at more complex structures are rare and frequently faulty, as seen in the final paragraph's exceptionally long, unpunctuated sentence: 'In my opinion second option is great because by just sittimg back and doing nothing can not make us successful if we want to be a successful person we have to work hard and change the satuation...'. These frequent errors constrain readability and place the grammar score at Band 5.0.
