Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some individuals argue that it is an ideal approach to accept an unfamiliar situation such as an inadequate work or money shortage, while others believe that it is wiser to seek to ameliorate such conditions. This essay discusses the both viewpoints before presenting a valid own perspective, wheather I believe that to make balance of both situation without panicking on bad situation is the best way to change the lifestyle.

On the one hand, there are several reason why accepting bad situation is an adequate option. The prominent reason is that individuals in unsatisfactory job might choose to stay due to financial stability and security. In other words, changing job or skills would be more challenging and pressurizing and this might take time to create life as per the choices. Meanwhile, if individual wants to change or improve their lifestyle, it may not change in a single day. However, for keep mind peaceful, it is the best way to accept the situation. Additionally, in this condition, individuals have stability to manage their expenses like food and rent.

On the other hand, there are those who advocate for actively working to improve challenging situations. The first and foremost reason is that it enhances individuals' personal growth. To explain it, if an individuals work in an uninteresting job that will become them less creative and productive because always a person actively work on things, which gives them a joy or happiness. This proactive approach not only increases the chances of achieving a more fulfilling career but also installs confidence and resilience. Moreover, people who work towards improving their circumstances are often more satisfied with their lives, as they feel they are in control and actively shaping their future.

In my opinion, individuals should manage both the circumstances with balanced manner, which helps them keep mind peaceful and productive. Unsatisfactory job assists stability, so while working on job, individual may be focus on improving such condition and take risks.

In conclusion, while accepting a difficult situation might provide temporary comfort and security, I feel that attempting to improve one’s circumstances ultimately leads to a more rewarding life. It is through perseverance and the willingness to take risks that people can truly overcome life’s challenges and achieve personal growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—accepting difficult situations versus actively trying to improve them—and provides a clear personal opinion. In the introduction, the writer outlines the two perspectives and takes a stance, stating that balancing acceptance with proactive steps is best. Both body paragraphs explore relevant ideas: the first examines the security and stability of accepting a bad job, while the second discusses personal growth and resilience resulting from proactive change. However, some ideas lack full extension and contain minor confusion, such as the awkward phrasing in the thesis ('wheather I believe that to make balance of both situation without panicking on bad situation'). Overall, the task is well-addressed, meeting the criteria for Band 6.5 to 7.0, leaning toward Band 6.0 due to some under-developed conceptual clarity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a logical overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two distinct body paragraphs representing opposing views, a synthesis paragraph, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader through the argumentative structure. However, referencing is occasionally imprecise, and some cohesive links feel mechanical or awkward, as seen in phrases like 'Meanwhile, if individual wants to change...' and 'To explain it, if an individuals work...'. Paragraph transitions are generally understandable, but logical progression falters slightly where sentences are grammatically convoluted. This places the performance firmly in the Band 6 category.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'ameliorate', 'financial stability', 'resilience', and 'proactive approach'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and collocation errors throughout the essay, such as 'money shortage' instead of 'financial shortage' or 'financial hardship', 'inadequate work' instead of 'unsatisfactory job', and 'keep mind peaceful' instead of 'keep the mind at peace' or 'maintain peace of mind'. Additionally, spelling errors occur, such as 'wheather' instead of 'whether' and 'installs' instead of 'instills'. While communication is not impeded, these frequent slips prevent the response from achieving a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'an unfamiliar situation such as an inadequate work', 'if an individuals work', and 'always a person actively work on things'. Punctuation and phrasing issues also surface, as in 'that will become them less creative and productive'. While these errors do not completely obscure the meaning and communication is generally maintained, the high density of minor grammatical slips keeps the score at Band 5.5.
