Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that if a person is dealing with some bad situation then he should try to improve his condition instead of accepting his situation as his fate. While others argue that, one should accept his condition as it is wether its realated to his job or financial instability. In my opinion, a person should keep on moving forward despite of various challenges and hurdles in his path. By facing these challenges of life, one may overcome his poor situation easily.
On one hand, people believe that good and bad situations are a part of life. A person should accept them as his fate. They often believe that a person do not have ability to change his condition and should accept it as it is. For instance, a person suffering from financial crisis or unemployment, should consider it as a part of life and instead of doing anything for it should wait for the perfect time where the situation will become better by its own.
On the other hand, many people believe that bad situation is not permanent and it will end only if a person puts efforts to solve it. In life, a person goes through many challenges and hardships but the only thing which can save his life is his action and dedication. For example ,if a person is having an unsatisfactory job then instead of keep living in the same situation should try to move forward. He should look for more better options because no one is coming to save him unless he do for himself.
In conclusion, one should take hardships and hurdles of life as challenges. Instead of becoming victim of these challenges, one should strive to change his situation. It is the only way to cope difficult times.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on accepting or fighting against a bad situation and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are extended with relevant examples, such as mentioning unemployment and unsatisfactory jobs. However, the development of ideas tends to be slightly repetitive and somewhat general, lacking deeper nuance or extended argumentation. For instance, the discussion on why some people choose to accept their fate remains at a basic level without fully exploring the psychological or cultural aspects of resignation. Consequently, the performance aligns best with Band 6.5, but rounded to the whole band standard of 6.0 as ideas could be more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure with four distinct paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. Transitional markers such as 'On one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader through the text. However, logical progression is occasionally hindered by mechanical cohesive devices and awkward transitions, such as 'despite of' or missing links between sentences in the second body paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas, but referencing is sometimes imprecise, as seen with ambiguous pronoun usage ('it', 'this'). Overall, the cohesion is somewhat mechanical, placing the response solidly in the Band 6 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-related terms such as 'financial crisis', 'unemployment', 'hardships', and 'dedication'. There are, however, noticeable word-choice errors and awkward collocations throughout the text, such as 'bad situation' instead of 'adverse situation', 'wether' (spelling error for 'whether'), 'realated', and 'more better' (double comparative). Less common vocabulary is attempted with limited success. While these lexical inaccuracies do not impede overall communication, they prevent the score from reaching a higher band. Therefore, a Band 6 is appropriate for lexical resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. Complex structures are attempted, such as conditional and concessive clauses ('While others argue that...', 'if a person is having an unsatisfactory job...'). However, frequent grammatical errors are present, including missing articles ('suffering from financial crisis', 'is having unsatisfactory job'), preposition errors ('instead of keep living'), and punctuation flaws like missing spaces after commas and periods. Although these errors do not completely obscure the intended meaning, they occur frequently enough to prevent the grammar score from reaching Band 6.5, making Band 6 a fair evaluation.
