Student answer (Band 5.5)

Failure should need to taken as a lesson and winning should be taken as a motivation. There is a ongoing debate arguing, that people need to accept worst situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or financial break down, while other argues that it is better to find a solution and improve. This essay argues that sometime it is ok to accept the worst case scenario like attaing unsatisfactory job and financial break down just to save from dead end because it is better to do something than gaining nothing. However, it is always better to find a solution and improve because it can help you achieve your dreams and even contribute in charity.

Sometimes it is ok to accept the worst case scenarios like joining unsatisfactory job or financial break down to save from the dead end. It is always better to get or earn something rather than nothing. For example, imagine if one refuse to do a low paying job simply because it was not up to ones expectations, slowly, he will be homeless and situation will be even worse reaching dead end. So sometimes it is ok to accept the worst case scenarios.

However, it is even better to try and improve despite feeling comfortable with a minimum gain. Improving self is the key to achieving personal dream, in order to do that, one should be obsessed with his dream and need a full dedication towards the goal. for example if one wants do business it needs to be started from the smallest rather than joining job. so, it is even better to try and improve.

Moreover, investing on one self is always the pinnacle of a wise people. one need to improve one self before helping others. for example, if miss x has achieves her dream she could even contribute to charity for poor people. so investing on one self is always the pinnacle of a wise people.

in conclusion it is better to improve nad try rather than acceppting the qorst case scenario.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—accepting a bad situation versus trying to improve it—and provides the writer's own opinion. The position is clear throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas tends to be repetitive, especially in the body paragraphs where similar points about avoiding homelessness and investing in oneself are reiterated without sufficient extension or fresh examples. The arguments sometimes over-generalise, such as stating that refusing a low-paying job inevitably leads to homelessness. While the task is adequately addressed, the overall development fits best at Band 6.0 due to the under-developed and repetitive nature of the supporting ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay is divided into an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, showing a clear overall arrangement. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas. However, cohesion at the sentence level is frequently mechanical or faulty, with abrupt transitions and occasional referencing issues. For instance, phrases like 'so sometimes it is ok to accept the worst case scenarios' are repeated mechanically at the end of paragraphs. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or over-used, and the conclusion lacks a proper transition marker, appearing hastily written as 'in conclusion it is better to improve nad try rather than acceppting the qorst case scenario.' These features align with Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'financial break down', 'dead end', and 'pinnacle of a wise people'. However, there are notable errors in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as 'attaing' instead of 'attaining', 'joining unsatisfactory job' instead of 'taking an unsatisfactory job', and 'investing on one self' instead of 'investing in oneself'. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'nad' for 'and' and 'acceppting' for 'accepting'. These inaccuracies do not entirely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as conditional clauses ('imagine if one refuse to do...') and relative clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('Failure should need to taken', 'others argues', 'one refuse'), missing articles ('joining job', 'for poor people'), and incorrect verb forms ('if miss x has achieves'). Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic, with lowercase letters beginning sentences and names. Because these frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader despite the mix of structures, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
