Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on accepting bad situations versus trying to improve them, and it provides an opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes obscure due to language barriers. For example, phrases like 'pupils want to more grades, while they may work more hard' attempt to introduce relevant concepts but lack clarity. The arguments about luxury lifestyle and financial pressure are relevant to the prompt, but they are underdeveloped and occasionally repetitive. The position is discernible, yet the overall execution aligns with Band 5 descriptors because the ideas remain somewhat restricted and lack full elaboration.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays an attempt at paragraphing, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing sentence structures. Cohesive devices are often used inaccurately or mechanically, as seen in phrases like 'Initially, one of major merits of improve our situations that we can lives our dreams' and 'Despite above the arguments'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the conclusion abruptly introduces conflicting ideas without synthesizing the body paragraphs effectively. These organizational and cohesive shortcomings place the response firmly in the Band 5 category.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors that frequently impede communication. The student attempts less common lexical items, but these are often incorrect in form or collocation, such as 'employments' instead of employment, 'excissive dreams' for excessive dreams, and 'permotion' for promotion. Other word choice errors, including 'ordinery citizens' and 'crea financial pressure', demonstrate a limited and occasionally strained control of lexical resource. Because the errors cause some difficulty for the reader and the range is restricted, this performance warrants a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on standard whole/half band conventions matching the descriptor profile.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is severely limited, consisting mostly of attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are constant errors in basic sentence structure, verb forms, and prepositions. Examples include 'many individuals could not stop at the position', 'we should try to more better', and 'while loans EMIS creates strees and anxiety'. Punctuation errors also appear frequently, and subject-verb agreement is often neglected. Because errors are very frequent and can cause considerable difficulty for the reader in grasping the intended meaning, the grammatical control corresponds to a Band 4.0.
