Student answer (Band 5.5)

Earlier, there were few job opporunities and workers did not worry much about satisfaction, they just focused on earning money. In the modern world, today workers pay much importance on job satisfaction and want to earn higher. However, some people agrue that it is better to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. While, other says it is better to try and improve such situations. I believe that both have its own merits, in this essay I will shed light on both notions and give my opinion at the end.

On the one hand, some people are not physically active or they see arguing on such thingh as wastage of time. Meanwhile, some people get a job after many obstracles and they want to earn money to bearn expenses and help family financially, so they end up in an unsatisfactory job. Apart from it, sometimes due to bad situation or due to any emergencies, one has to bear shortage of money or do a unsatisfactory job.

On the other hand, other argue that it is better to try and improve such situations, owing to they quickly analyze their real worth and reconsider their real needs and wants, they they apply for a job where they are happy to work. Not only this, some people are passonate to work hard and earn money. Moreover, they always find better opportunity and keep enhancing their knowledge about new technology, it help them to find better job and earn more money.

In conclusion, I believe that a person should focus on his or her skills and get a job which match their level, if they stop finding better opportunities then they will be forced to be dependent on a single job

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on accepting versus improving a bad situation, and the student presents a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, noting practical reasons such as financial burdens and family responsibilities for the first view, and personal growth and skill enhancement for the second view. However, some arguments lack deep extension and remain slightly generalized, such as the brief mentions of emergencies or physical inactivity. While the task response covers the requirements adequately, the development is somewhat limited in places, aligning comfortably with a band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, separating the introduction, two body paragraphs, and the conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and faulty. Phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used to structure the text, but internal transitions within paragraphs are occasionally weak or confusing, such as 'owing to they quickly analyze' and 'they they apply for a job'. Referencing and logical progression are occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing, placing this response at a band 6.0 for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'unsatisfactory job', 'financial burden', and 'enhance knowledge'. However, there are numerous noticeable word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors throughout the text, including 'opporunities', 'agrue', 'obstracles', 'bearn expenses', 'passonate', and repetition of phrases like 'earn money' and 'better job'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capability to construct multi-clause sentences such as 'While, other says it is better to try and improve such situations.' However, there is a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('both have its own', 'other argue'), awkward dependent clauses ('owing to they quickly analyze'), and punctuation slips. While communication is generally maintained, the density of grammatical errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band, making a band 5.5 appropriate.
