IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

People have different views regarding the challanges of life. Some proponents argue that it is wiser decision to accept a bad situation such as unsatisfied job or financial crisis, while others claim that the better way is to try to improve these situations by working hard. I am completely in favour of second statement. From my stand point noting is impossible if a persons tries to make his situations better he will definitely get positive results. This essay will discus both views, before explaining my opinion.

On the one hand, it is widely considerd that to accept abd situations will be better strategy. It helps stay away from challenges of life, individuals will not have to do extra struggles their life will be smooth as hapening. I strongly believe that this act will creates numerous disadvantages. Firstly, the person will exhausts from his life. For instance, when a person is working in a hospital where he is asgined to prescribe multiple tests to patients so that the hospital can earn more money. If a person will accept these terms and start working like that he will definitely become frustrated by seeing unfordable persons struggling financially to pay hospital bills. Secondly when a person comes from poorer faamily and he accepts that he has to live this life. He will tired from his life. As he haver yto face financial issues in his daily rotune. Consequently, he can try be attempt sucide.

On the other hand, it is argued that it is better to endeavor to improve the situations. It will bring numerous benefits. Firstly, it will encourage the person to work hards.As it is sayinh that hardwork pays off. When person works hard and graduate with higher grades he get good job with good salary. As a result, he will be able to support his family financially. Socially, it helps boost the selfestem. When a person will refuse to do illegal task at workplace and join the job where he can work with staisfication. He will become socially active and will spend a peacefull and happy life.

In conclusion, although to accept bad situations prevents a person from stuggles of life, try to improve situations makes individuals bold, active and gives them a sense of fulfillment.
