Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argued that accepting bad situation is best way to struggle with. While others argued that ther may have other approaches dealing with such circumstances may help grow in their personal and professional life.In this essay we will discuss pros and cons.

To begain, with many people think acceptance is the key to sucess which is completly wrong. To some extent it is true. For short period of time it may keep an individual away from stress and anxiety but this may not help indvidual grow personally ad professionaly. They can get upgrated by learning new skills and accquier a good position in their respected field.if the person keep dewilling with situation these may effect their future.

On the other hand, improving such situstion has many positive accepects.firstly,it boost their self confidence so they start beliving in themselves. For example if we visiualized around us their are many people who are successful are mostly enterprenures or bussiness man who run their family business.secondly, the rate of sucess icreasess when a person has more developed skills.furthermore acceptance may acceptance may also lead to missued of opportunity and later regret in life.

In my opinion, accepting such bad situation should be temporary rather we should be more focoused on how to improve such situation so that we can secure our future and live our life to ful of joy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the main prompt by discussing both views on whether to accept or improve a bad situation and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the task achievement is negatively impacted by two main issues. Firstly, the response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement, coming in at 227 words compared to the required 250 words, which incurs a direct penalty. Secondly, the ideas are somewhat undeveloped and repetitive, such as the mention of acceptance leading to missed opportunities appearing towards the end without strong expansion. While the writer attempts to support points with examples, such as referencing entrepreneurs, the explanations remain limited. Therefore, it fits best into Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays a rudimentary attempt at organisation, dividing the response into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, overall progression lacks smoothness, and the paragraphing is awkward with multiple run-on sentences and missing spaces after punctuation marks. Cohesive devices are either repetitive or inadequate; for instance, the transition 'To begain, with' contains spelling errors and awkward phrasing, while 'secondly' and 'furthermore' are used mechanically. Paragraph transitions do not flow naturally, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun confusion in the second body paragraph. This places the response firmly within the Band 5 descriptor for coherence and cohesion due to the lack of clear logical progression and repetitive cohesive devices.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and basic, restricting the writer's ability to discuss the topic with precision. There are frequent spelling mistakes throughout the text, including 'begain' instead of begin, 'sucess' instead of success, 'completly', 'indvidual', 'ad', 'professionaly', 'upgrated', 'accquier', 'respected', 'dewilling', 'effect', 'situstion', 'accepects', 'firstly', 'visiuallized', 'enterprenures', 'bussiness', 'icreasess', and 'focoused'. These numerous lexical errors often cause strain for the reader, although communication of the general meaning is usually maintained. The range of vocabulary is barely adequate to communicate the ideas, preventing the response from reaching Band 6.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response shows a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and flawed attempts at complex clauses. There are persistent, frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and articles, such as 'accepting bad situation is best way', 'if the person keep dewilling with situation these may effect', and 'accepting such bad situation should be temporary rather we should be more focoused'. Punctuation is frequently mishandled, with missing spaces after commas and periods, and run-on sentences. Because complex structures are often faulty and errors are frequent throughout the text, causing difficulty for the reader, the grammar performance corresponds to Band 4.5.
