Student answer (Band 5.0)
In my opinion , Absoluely few people believe that is best to accept a bad situation, such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Some others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations.
Some people born in a wealthy family and others in a poor family. In poor families, if we take a leave for one day, it is hard to survive for the next day. Because there are several problems facing by them . For example, Many students have completd engineering degree but there are only few jobs available in the IT industry so some of them accepting any kind of roles irrespective of their degree because there is so much competition in the outside world.
In today`s world, people believe that education is the only way to improve their lives better. In my experience, I have seen so many people become successful. For instance, Abdul kalam was one of the greatest figure in india. He is very poor, he doesn`t have enough expenses to study but he never give up and he always read books and always overcame the problems coming after him. Then he finally became a scientist. I think education and sports are the only way improve their lives in now a days.
Finally, In my knowledge, I think both views are correct , when you have worst situation you should first try to accept it ,think about the roots of it and then try to improve them with your own knowledge and taking help from others it will help you make the bad situations into a good one.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both views and provide a personal opinion, meeting the basic demands of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes disjointed. For instance, the transition from wealthy and poor families to IT graduates accepting any role touches upon the prompt's theme of accepting a bad situation, but the argument remains underdeveloped. Similarly, the reference to Abdul Kalam attempts to support the view of trying to improve one's situation, but the explanation is superficial. The writer's position is discernible in the final paragraph, where a nuanced view is presented, suggesting initial acceptance followed by active improvement. Overall, the task is addressed partially, aligning with a Band 5 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some organizational structure with distinct paragraphs, but there is a lack of clear overall progression and logical flow. Paragraphing is used, but the internal cohesion of the paragraphs is often faulty or mechanical. For example, sentences such as 'Some people born in a wealthy family and others in a poor family' and 'Because there are several problems facing by them' lack smooth transitions and referencing connections. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes inaccurate, such as the abrupt shift into the example of Abdul Kalam. The conclusion attempts a summarizing function with 'Finally, In my knowledge', but the overall progression of ideas feels disjointed, placing this text firmly at a Band 5 level.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors that occasionally impede readability. Phrases such as 'Absoluely few people' and 'worst situation' demonstrate a limited range that is minimally adequate for the task. There are several spelling and word-choice errors, including 'completd' for completed and 'now a days' for nowadays. The student attempts some less common phrasing, such as 'irrespective of their degree' and 'roots of it', but inaccurate word forms and restricted vocabulary control keep the lexical resource score at a Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside frequent faulty attempts at complex ones. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'there are several problems facing by them' (passive voice error), 'he doesn't have enough expenses' (collocation and tense inconsistency), and capitalization issues with proper nouns like 'india' and 'abdul kalam'. Punctuation is also problematic, evident in spacing errors around commas and periods, such as 'In my opinion ,'. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect Band 4 to Band 5 descriptors, meriting a 4.5.
