Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt only partially, fulfilling the requirement to discuss both views and provide a personal opinion, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the response falls short of the minimum two hundred and fifty-word count. The student touches upon the idea of accepting a bad situation due to job burnout and psychological pressure, and contrasts this with intrinsically motivated individuals who seek solutions and manage their expenses. However, the discussion lacks sufficient depth, and the position in the conclusion is somewhat unclear and simplistic, stating only to 'act like positive situation handler'. To reach a higher level, all parts of the prompt must be extended with well-developed supporting arguments and relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation within the essay, but it lacks a clear overall progression. The response uses basic paragraphing to separate ideas about accepting situations, proactive individuals, and developing countries, yet the flow of thought is frequently disrupted by structural issues. Cohesive devices are either inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the repetitive use of 'such that', 'which lead them', and 'they try to'. Referencing is also not always clear, making it difficult for the reader to track the progression of ideas from sentence to sentence. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to ensure logical sequencing throughout and use a wider, more accurate range of cohesive devices without over-relying on repetitive patterns.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The lexical resource is limited but minimally adequate for communicating basic ideas. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'turnover intention', 'intrinsically motivated', and 'psychological pressure', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, including 'tight them in budget', 'emplyees rigts issue', and 'figth'. Spelling errors and incorrect word forms occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. To improve this criterion, the student must expand their vocabulary range and pay closer attention to natural word combinations and precise lexical choices suitable for academic writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying heavily on long, run-on sentences that lack proper punctuation. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often faulty and contain frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('types of challenges create', 'Their believe to figth'), incorrect verb forms ('direct then', 'try to do there job'), and missing articles or prepositions. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of grammatical structures with improved control over sentence boundaries, clause subordination, and basic grammatical accuracy.
