Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is often debated whether people should accept difficult circumstance, such as an unsatisfying job or financial hardship, or strive to improve them. While accepting bad situation can provide emotional stability and peach mind, I believe that actively trying to overcome adversity is essential for personal growth and long -term success.
On the other hand, accepting a bad situation can prevent unnecessary stress and anxiety. When individuals face problems beyond their immediate control, constatntly fighting against them can lead the frustration, burnout and mental exhaustion. Accepting reality allows people to find contentment in what they already have rather than dwelling on what missing. For example, someone in a low-paying job might choose to focus on job security and workplace relationship rather than constantly stressing over high income. Thus acceptance can be a practical coping mechanisim for maintaining psychology well-being
On the other hand, actively working to improve one's circumstances drives progress and individuals achievement. If people simply accept hardship, they missout of an opportunities to learn new skills, advance their careers, or achieve financial careers and stability. Throughout history major life improvements have come from individuals refusing poor conditions. For instance, an employee unhappy with their job can pursue further education or learn digital skills to secure a better-paying role. Striving for improvement fosters resilience, self-reliance, and ambition, which are crucial for achieving a higher quality of life.
In conclusion, while accepting a difficult situation can offer short-term peach of mind, I firmly believe that making effort to change and improve unfavourable conditions is the better approach. Taking proactive steps not only solves practical problems but also enables individuals to reach thier full potential.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both the view that people should accept difficult situations and the view that they should try to improve them, while maintaining a clear personal position throughout. The introduction outlines the two stances and your opinion, and each viewpoint is given a dedicated body paragraph. Ideas are generally extended and supported, such as providing the example of focusing on job security rather than stressing over income in the acceptance paragraph. However, there is a slight tendency to over-generalise in parts, and some arguments could be explored with even greater depth to reach a fully developed level, particularly regarding the nuances of financial hardship. Overall, the treatment of the prompt is solid, fulfilling all the requirements for a sound, well-argued essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression throughout. You make use of standard cohesive devices and transition signals, such as 'On the other hand' (though note the accidental repetition of this phrase for both body paragraphs) and 'In conclusion', to guide the reader through your arguments. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, two distinct body perspectives, and the conclusion. However, cohesion sometimes feels slightly mechanical, and referencing is not always completely smooth, such as the repetition of phrase structures between paragraphs. To move further, you would need to ensure a wider and more flexible variety of cohesive devices while maintaining seamless transitions between complex ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
Your vocabulary range is adequate for the task, successfully conveying your meaning with terms like 'emotional stability', 'financial hardship', 'self-reliance', and 'unfavourable conditions'. You attempt less common vocabulary, though this is accompanied by some inaccuracy in word choice, spelling, and collocation. For example, writing 'difficult circumstance' instead of 'circumstances', 'peach mind' instead of 'peace of mind', 'constatntly' instead of 'constantly', 'lead the frustration' instead of 'lead to frustration', and 'mechanisim' instead of 'mechanism'. Furthermore, phrases like 'psychology well-being' contain word-form errors. These spelling and word-choice errors do not impede communication, but they prevent the vocabulary from achieving the precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilising structures such as conditional clauses ('If people simply accept hardship...') and participial phrases effectively. You maintain control over many of your sentences, but there are some errors in grammar and punctuation present throughout the text. Examples include missing articles or pluralisation issues, such as 'what missing' instead of 'what is missing', 'workplace relationship' instead of 'relationships', 'missout of an opportunities' containing multiple prepositional and article mistakes, and 'achieve financial careers and stability' showing a slight confusion in collocation disguised as a grammatical pattern. Punctuation errors also appear, such as 'long -term success' with an unnecessary space around the hyphen. These errors persist, but they rarely impede communication.
