Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response engages with the prompt minimally, attempting to discuss both accepting a difficult situation and trying to improve it, along with a brief personal opinion at the end ("By my opinion i think that it is a good way to do work untill you success"). However, the ideas are presented in a very repetitive manner rather than being systematically developed. Sentences like "Most of the people think that it is good to do an unsatisfactory job" are repeated multiple times with slight variations without adding new supporting arguments or fully exploring the implications of either view. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to clearly separate the two opposing viewpoints into distinct paragraphs, introduce relevant examples or explanations for each side, and develop a fully supported personal position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The response lacks a coherent overall structure and reliable progression. Traditional paragraphing is entirely absent, with the text presented as a block of broken lines and fragmented thoughts rather than structured paragraphs. Cohesive devices are largely missing or applied repetitively, as seen in the excessive reliance on phrases like "Most of the people think that" to start consecutive sentences. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of argument. To achieve a higher band, the essay must be organized into logical paragraphs (introduction, body paragraph for view one, body paragraph for view two, and conclusion) while utilizing a wider variety of appropriate transition signals to connect ideas smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and highly repetitive, with frequent recycling of words such as "people", "job", "lifestyle", and "normal". There are noticeable lexical errors, such as "short of money" instead of shortage of money, and spelling errors like "untill" and "expenss". Word choices frequently strain the reader's understanding due to unnatural collocations. To improve lexical resource, the student should expand their range of vocabulary beyond everyday words, learn correct word forms and spellings, and practice precise collocations relevant to academic topics such as employment and financial challenges.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, repetitive sentence frames and fragments rather than full, controlled complex structures. Errors are frequent throughout the text, including severe prepositions and article issues ("In this word", "on that it is the best way"), faulty verb forms ("work untill you success"), and run-on structures. These persistent errors frequently distort meaning and hinder communication. To progress, the writer must focus on basic sentence construction, ensure correct subject-verb agreement, eliminate sentence fragments, and gradually incorporate accurate complex sentences using subordinate clauses.
