Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongiong argument about bad circumstances and how people should adapt easily without minding their current state, if is due to lack of money or about a job being unsatisfied. While others are of the opinion that both should be dealt with. This essay will discuss both views with relevant examples.
On the one hand, accepting a bad situation can be a practical way of dealing with issues when there arise. For example, an individual may be unsatisfied with their job but be able to remain in such enviroment because they would need a stable income to feed themselves and families when they are in need. In such instances constant worrying can result to stress and frustration. Acceptance can therefore help people to focus while they wait for a better opportunity.
On the other hand, Trying to improve difficult situations can lead to long-term results. Individuals who are unhappy with their current situations, for instance, can develop new skills, gain new knowledge, or as well channel their energy for searching for other postions. This also applied to someone who is experiencing financial difficulties can learn a skill snd reduce the unneccessary spendings or even start a business to increase their income. In my experience, people who divert their attentions to solve their problems tend to improve their circumstances than those who simply accept their problems.
In conclusion, accepting difficult situation may sometimes be neccessary, especially when there is no alternatives. However, i believe that people should try to solve their issues by taking actions that can create better offers that lead to more satisfying life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on how to handle difficult situations and providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas presented are generally relevant, such as accepting an unsatisfactory job for financial stability versus developing new skills to improve circumstances. However, some ideas are under-developed rather than fully extended. For instance, the argument about acceptance preventing stress is mentioned briefly without deep exploration, and the examples, while relevant, tend to rely on generalisations rather than specific, detailed elaboration. To move toward higher bands, the writer needs to fully extend all main points with more detailed explanations and richer supporting evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from introduction to body paragraphs and a concluding summary. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with each main body paragraph dedicated to one side of the argument. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. Transitional phrases and cohesive devices are occasionally overused or clunky, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' acting as predictable templates, and referencing is not always completely clear, such as 'both should be dealt with' referring back to vaguely defined concepts. To reach a higher level, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices organically and ensure seamless transitions between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully communicating central ideas about financial stability and skill development. There are notable attempts to use less common items such as 'unsatisfactory', 'circumstances', and 'financial difficulties'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and word choice errors, such as 'ongiong' (spelling), 'job being unsatisfied' instead of 'unsatisfying job', 'enviroment', 'postions', 'snd', 'unneccessary spendings', and 'attentions'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they reflect limitations in word choice, spelling, and collocation. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire and eliminate spelling and word-formation errors through careful proofreading.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses. There are several grammatical errors present, such as prepositional misuse ('when there arise' instead of 'when they arise', 'result to stress' instead of 'result in stress'), article omissions ('search for other postions'), and punctuation slips ('However, i believe'). Fortunately, these errors rarely impede communication and the meaning remains clear throughout the text. To attain a higher band, the writer needs to produce a greater frequency of error-free sentences when using complex structures and maintain tighter control over subject-verb agreement and prepositions within grammatical patterns.
