Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt only partially, fulfilling the requirement to discuss both views and give an opinion, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion regarding accepting a bad situation mentions cleaning windows of higher buildings, but this point lacks sufficient elaboration and proper contextual support. Furthermore, your position is stated briefly at the end rather than being sustained throughout the essay. Additionally, the length requirement of 250 words is not met, as the response contains 241 words, falling slightly short of the minimum limit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation with the use of introductory and concluding structures, such as 'To begin with' and 'On the other hand', but there is no clear overall progression across the essay. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, and referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the abrupt transitions between sentences in the body paragraphs. Paragraphing is attempted, but the concluding section is fragmented into very short, separate lines rather than forming a cohesive concluding paragraph, which disrupts the logical flow of the writing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, with noticeable errors that cause some difficulty for the reader. There are frequent word choice and word form errors throughout the text, such as 'on going' instead of 'ongoing', 'worst scenario' instead of 'worse scenario', 'indiviuals' instead of 'individuals', 'compitition' instead of 'competition', 'unempolyed' instead of 'unemployed', and 'sucess' instead of 'success'. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling mistakes restrict the communication of ideas and prevent the response from achieving a higher level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent grammatical errors, including issues with verb forms, tense usage, missing articles, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'Both the views are discussing' instead of 'are discussed', 'some people belive they might have to do these job' instead of 'these jobs', and 'people should have to faith in your self' instead of 'yourself'. These frequent errors require the reader to decode the meaning and can cause noticeable difficulty.
