Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people believe that it is normal to understand the worse scenario about life and let it go with the situations like shortage of money and unsatisfied job while other give their opinion about trying hard to tackle such situation to get out of it. There are different kind of people in this world who have their different perspectives about practicle life so it is totally upon us what we need to believe and how we should go accordingly.

Firstly we will understand the perspective of those people who think that they should accept the bad situation, such as bad situation and unsatisfied job and so on. It is all about how passionately we pursue our life style with goals and how we should determine about it. People with these kind of believes are likely not to brave for have such courage to attempt hardness in their lives and it can be other factors, such as poverty, less facility of jobs and oportunity for betterment and maybe they are just not willingly to do anything better and just stuck with these situattions. For example person who hardly earn 50 dollars a day as wages and have no education, no skill and unable to understand societal norms then that person will just sit and have whatever is coming.

On the other hand, most of the people in society who have such passion and courage about to change thier lifestyles and to eradicate the insecurities in thier families like poverty, moreover such people do hard work and they do study and learn skills to compete with the society. For example a student who is from backward area but he is very intelligent and hard working so he will do his best to grow himself and maybe one day he will get good government job to make his life better.

According to my opinion wherever we fall in our life status either we are in good situation or bad but we should not put ourself down in any kind of situation because once we decide to give up it means we can never do anything after that. Life is all about being passionate and try to improve everyday and try to learn every day .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—accepting difficult circumstances versus trying to improve them—and includes the writer's own opinion in the final paragraph. However, some ideas are under-developed or less fully explained. For instance, the discussion on why people accept bad situations touches on poverty and lack of opportunities, as seen in the example of a worker earning fifty dollars a day, but the reasoning remains somewhat basic and repetitive. The position is generally clear throughout, yet the development of supporting arguments would benefit from greater depth and broader extension to meet a higher standard.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into logical paragraphs, separating the introduction, the two differing views, and the conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always clear. Phrases used to transition between ideas, such as 'Firstly we will understand' and 'On the other hand', are somewhat rigid, and the use of pronouns can occasionally cause ambiguity, as seen in sentences where the subject shifts rapidly. Paragraphing is present and helps divide the main themes, but the flow between sentences within paragraphs occasionally lacks smooth progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used represents an adequate range for the completion of the task, allowing the writer to convey basic arguments about life situations and personal challenges. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as 'worse scenario' instead of 'worst scenario', 'unsatisfied job' instead of 'unsatisfying job', 'practicle life' instead of 'practical life', and 'thier' instead of 'their'. The writer attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'eradicate the insecurities' and 'societal norms', but these attempts are accompanied by inaccuracies in word choice, form, and spelling that occasionally cause slight difficulty for the reader without completely impeding communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing displays a limited range of structures, relying on a mix of simple sentences and attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving article usage, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, such as 'tackle such situation' instead of 'tackling such situations', 'person who hardly earn' instead of 'a person who hardly earns', and 'try to improve everyday and try to learn every day' where punctuation and parallel structures are inconsistent. Although these errors are noticeable and require some effort from the reader to process, the meaning remains discernible and communication is not entirely blocked.
