Student answer (Band 4.5)

Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation such as a job that we do not like to do anymore and the shortage of the money this is also one kind of the situation in the lfe in which we have to compromise on the limited resources in the life. but some people think that it is better to try and improve that situation.

One of the major advantage of this is that when we accept the bad situation in the life and we believe that it is not a permanent part of the life then we do not get worry about the future and we put our focus on the main work which help us to improve the life. Secondly,if we have some of the big goals and the dreams then unsatisfactory job gives us the true lessons of the life and we go through the real life experience rahter than we stay in the day dreaming. for exmaple if a boy belong to a middle class family and he want to become the elite person in his life but he do not like to do a job then it will create problems in his life. firstly he should learn how to make a lot of money to invest in the business and job is the one of the most best option for that.

while some people think that these situations can be changed it is just a matter of time he need a right mindset and actions to chnage everything around is the best case if we do not believe in that then we will think all the time negatively and stay stressful all the time which is also a health issue.

In conclusions, it is best to accept the situation in the life that we do not like to accept in the life but these situations always comes to make us strong and should believe in ourself and try to improve it by some necessary actions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the prompt only partially, fulfilling the criteria for a lower band level. While the writer attempts to discuss both views regarding accepting versus trying to improve a bad situation and provides a personal opinion, the ideas are limited and under-developed. For example, the notion that accepting a job teaches life lessons is introduced but remains brief and lacks sufficient expansion or clear reasoning. Furthermore, the position is not always clearly maintained throughout the essay. To move toward a higher band, the writer needs to ensure all parts of the task are fully addressed with well-developed, extended arguments and clear supporting examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The organization of the essay struggles with overall progression and coherence. Although paragraphing is attempted, the arrangement of ideas lacks a clear logical flow, making the progression difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are used rather inadequately and repetitively, with sentences often strung together awkwardly using conjunctions like 'and' or 'but' rather than precise linking words. Referencing is also unclear in places, such as pronoun use that leaves the reader uncertain about the intended subject. To achieve a stronger score, the writer must structure paragraphs with clearer topical themes and employ a wider, more accurate range of cohesive devices to connect ideas smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, fitting the criteria for this band. The writer relies on basic and repetitive terms, such as 'bad situation', 'life', and 'money', though there are occasional attempts at less common vocabulary like 'middle class family' and 'elite person'. However, noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form frequently occur, such as 'shortage of the money', 'day dreaming', and 'rahter than', which can cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve lexical resource, the student should focus on expanding their range of functional synonyms, mastering correct word forms, and paying closer attention to standard collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range is quite limited, consisting primarily of simple structures alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. The text contains frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing capital letters at the beginning of sentences, run-on sentences with improper comma splices or lack of punctuation, and errors in article usage and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'he want', 'situation always comes'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty and strain for the reader. To progress, the writer needs to practice constructing accurate complex sentences, improve sentence boundary punctuation, and exercise greater care with basic grammatical rules.
