Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some individuals argue that it is important to accept bad circumstances such as financial challenges or unsatisfactory job. While other people believe that people should try harder and make their lives better. In my opinion, It is crucial to accept things to have regret less life, but trying to improve your life is more rewarding because through this you can set an example in our society of resilliance to captivate others.

It is vital to have a peacful life and there is one way to live such life is to accept all the bad things that are happened with you. It is possible if we don't think about those issues much, people just need to let things go on their own ways. Consequently, they can focus on those things which are actually positive and they would be capable to enjoy those things in real life. For instance, according to a social experiment, a person can have a better life if they focus on the positive aspects of their life

On the other hand, there are people who think that trying to improve challenging situations is the best approach. This is because people would face those issues with courage, afterwards they can set an example of resiliance. This can motivates other to follow the same path and improve their conditions as well. I also believe in this approach, if a person really wants to improve his life, then he must try again and again to have a good shift in his life.

In conclusion, Some people think that it is best to accept bad conditions, but other people say that it is better to improve such circumstances. According to my views, although accepting all the things which are negativly happening to you make your life much easier and relaxed, trying to improve such situations is better. So through this people can motivate others, they can inspire them to improve there lives as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You successfully address all parts of the task by discussing both views on accepting versus improving difficult situations and presenting your own clear opinion. Your main positions are visible throughout the response, particularly in the introduction and conclusion. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the discussion on acceptance is somewhat repetitive and lacks specific, well-supported reasoning, while the second body paragraph relies on general statements about setting an example rather than exploring concrete scenarios. To move to a higher level, you should extend your arguments with deeper analysis and more precise examples rather than generalising.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your essay has a coherent overall arrangement, and you have divided your response into logical paragraphs that each serve a distinct purpose. You use some standard cohesive devices to guide the reader through your arguments, such as 'While other people', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, cohesion is at times a bit mechanical or faulty. For example, referencing is not always clear, and the transition between ideas within paragraphs could flow more smoothly. To improve in this area, you should work on using a wider variety of cohesive ties more naturally and ensure that your sentences link together seamlessly without relying on repetitive connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating your central message about personal choices and challenging situations. You make some attempts to use less common items, such as 'resilliance' and 'circumstances', but there are noticeable errors in spelling and word choice that prevent you from reaching a higher level. For example, you misspelled resilience as 'resilliance', used 'regret less life' instead of a regret-free life, and made collocation slips like 'bad things that are happened with you'. Your vocabulary is minimally sufficient to convey your ideas, but you need to eliminate spelling mistakes and refine your word choices to ensure greater precision and style.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms in your writing, attempting structures such as conditional sentences and relative clauses. There are, however, some errors in grammar and punctuation throughout your text, including issues with verb forms and preposition use, such as 'peacful life', 'things which are actually positive', and 'This can motivates other'. Despite these errors, they rarely impede communication, and your meaning remains generally clear. To achieve a higher score, you should increase the frequency of error-free complex sentences and exercise tighter control over your verb agreements and sentence punctuation.
