Student answer (Band 5.5)

The widely acknowledged argue is that, a certain amount of people believe accepting the bad situation is best, for instance unsatisfactory job or shortage of money while others argued that not giving ang try to improve your self in such situation is best.

To begin with, a certain amount of people have a faith on the acceptance of bad situations. For instance, having a job in bank as an BDO is not satisfactory for everyone but certain amount of people are not satisfy by their position as an BDO but they accept the job due to the reason of less opportunities in the country. Furthermore, some people accept their unsatisfactory job due to the shortage of money.

While, on the other hand, people believe that try for the improvement of bad situation is best. If someone do not have the satisfactory job and have shortage of money, it is better to improve the situation as compare to giving up. For instance, having a job at unsatisfied position make you feel unsatisfied all the time. Some people accept the situation and do their job as it is but certain amount of people try to get more better jobs and they definitely get the best ones.

In my stance, accepting a situation is not satisfactory but try to improve your self for getting the best outcomes is best.

In conclusion, accepting the bad situation in life is not unfulfilled for life but try to make your self better for best outcomes is the best way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the main prompt by discussing both views on whether to accept or improve difficult situations and provides an opinion in the conclusion and body paragraphs. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For example, the arguments regarding taking a bank job as a Business Development Officer (BDO) are repeated across multiple sentences rather than expanded with broader socio-economic reasoning or varied examples. The position is stated, but the lack of full extension keeps the task response at the current level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

There is a coherent overall arrangement with a clear division into introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'While, on the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to signpost the structure of the essay. However, referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow is occasionally disrupted by mechanical transitions and repetitive phrasing, such as the repeated use of 'certain amount of people'. Organisation is present, but progression lacks sophistication.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'unsatisfactory' and 'outcomes', but noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation are present throughout the text, including phrases like 'not giving ang try' instead of 'not trying', and 'more better' instead of 'better'. These lexical inaccuracies and occasional spelling slips cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions, such as 'The widely acknowledged argue is that' instead of 'argument' and 'try for the improvement' instead of 'trying to improve'. These frequent errors require the reader to decode the meaning, keeping the accuracy level constrained.
