Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this modern era some people believe that this is good to accept bad situation such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Others people argue that it is better to try and improve such situations. I agree that some persons think that it is good to accept a bad situation but individuals should do some effort to improve the situations.

Some people accept bad situation as good because they do not have power to fight with that situation they are so weak in fighting with situation for instance if an individual has intermediate skill and looking for a job lets say he get the job of Rs.10000 and he is doing work for the company he will work at medium skill which an employer thinks he can learn in some time so the employer will not fire him. As the employer thinks he can learn and he will be excited in working at intermediate skill so he is happy with Rs.10000 salary job.

However some people observe that if they argue bad situation

they can find right way to improve situations people can come out the trap of bad situation accepting as good. They fight with their problems others are not weak. For instance if a person with good skill he can get job in big companies easily he will do work according to company requirements. Employer will be happy with that and will not fire him.

By this i conclude that weaker persons should work hard on their skill to improve and they can fight with bad situation and some improved people must help weaker persons so that they can achieve their goals and also weaker persons should focus on improving skill.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a position: you acknowledge that some people accept difficult circumstances, while arguing that people should try to improve them. The examples about workers with different skill levels are relevant, but they do not fully explain why someone might reasonably accept a bad situation, or how effort can improve a shortage of money as well as employment. The discussion is also limited by unclear claims, such as describing people who accept a situation as “so weak,” and the conclusion introduces helping others without developing that point in the main discussion. To strengthen the response, explain the reasons behind each view, support them with specific consequences or examples, and make your own position consistent and clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding paragraph. “However” signals a shift to the opposing view, and “By this I conclude” marks the ending. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined together without clear sentence boundaries, especially in the first example. Connections between claims are sometimes unclear: “if they argue bad situation” does not explain how arguing leads to improvement, and “others are not weak” is not clearly linked to the preceding point. Use shorter, complete sentences, organise each paragraph around one main reason, and use linking phrases to show cause, contrast, and example more precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “unsatisfactory job,” “shortage of money,” “employer,” and “requirements,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “bad situation,” “skill,” and “improve.” Some combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “accept bad situation as good,” “fight with that situation,” and “intermediate skill.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand. Build a wider set of topic-specific expressions and learn them in natural combinations—for example, language for financial hardship, job security, and career development—then check that each phrase expresses the intended idea.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including conditional structures such as “if an individual has intermediate skill” and “if a person with good skill he can get job.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to read. For example, “Others people argue” has an agreement error, while “if a person with good skill he can get job” lacks a grammatical connection between its clauses. The long first example also runs several ideas together. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then combine them with correctly formed clauses using “if,” “because,” and “although.” Check articles and subject–verb agreement during revision.
