Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is a debatable view that some individuals argue that one should accept a bad situation, whereas others think that one should try their best to improve such situations. I firmly agree with the second opinion.
To begin with, the first view, the main reason people accept their bad situation is that they think everything happens because their luck did not support them. According to them, their destiny will give some good outcome in the near future. Hence, having such type of mindset makes people to accept situation such as an unsatisfactory job or to show laziness at the workplace. For instance, many individuals working in corporate offices think that if they work more, then they will be promoted. But they forgot to think that personal growth is equally important. Therefore, I completely disagree with this view.
On the other hand, many people try to work hard so that they can improve situations and learn life-savings lessons. They always find better opportunities to improve their lifestyle. To elaborate, an employee having a mindset to learn more and get promotion always tries to be present in various discussions and involve themselves in many critical thinking tasks. Such an approach gives opportunities to work with people present at higher authorities. I completely agree with this opinion.
In my perspective, having an attitude to change the bad situation helps one to grow financially as well as in professional and personal life. Such type of people, never stuck in any problem and always find the best possible way in any situation.
In conclusion, people have different mindset in situations either to improve it or accept it. But I believe that if they try to ameliorate such a situation than it can be helpful in personal and professional growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear position in favour of trying to improve difficult circumstances. The discussion of acceptance is relevant, particularly the idea that people may rely on luck or destiny, and the workplace example gives the second view some practical detail. However, the first view is explained mainly as laziness or misplaced faith in luck, rather than considering reasonable reasons someone might accept a situation, such as limited options or prioritising stability. Some claims, including that people who seek change “never stuck in any problem,” are broad and not supported. Develop each side more evenly with a specific example and explain how it supports your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. However, some linking is mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. For example, the corporate-office example says employees expect promotion through working harder, but the following point about personal growth does not clearly explain how this illustrates accepting a bad situation. The separate opinion paragraph also repeats the preference already stated without adding much development. Make links between examples and claims more explicit, and use referencing and transitions more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “unsatisfactory job,” “destiny,” “personal growth,” and “professional and personal life.” There are also attempts at less common wording, such as “ameliorate” and “critical thinking tasks.” However, some choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, for example “life-savings lessons,” “higher authorities,” and “never stuck in any problem.” “Such type of mindset” is also repeated and sounds awkward. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they limit precision and naturalness. Aim for familiar, accurate collocations—for example, “valuable life lessons,” “senior colleagues,” and “overcome difficulties”—and vary repeated phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses beginning “so that” and “if,” and most ideas remain understandable. Some grammatical errors occur, particularly with agreement, articles, and verb patterns. For example, “makes people to accept situation” needs a different verb pattern and an article, while “people have different mindset” requires plural agreement and a plural noun. In “people present at higher authorities,” the grammatical construction is also unclear. The sentence “Such type of people, never stuck” is missing a suitable verb form and has unnecessary punctuation. Review articles, singular/plural agreement, and verb patterns, then proofread punctuation. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
