Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the opening and conclusion. Relevant points include the risk of becoming trapped in an unsatisfying routine and the value of taking responsibility for one’s health and daily life. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the case for accepting a bad situation is not really explained, and several claims—such as having “much more potential” or being admired—are asserted rather than supported with a specific example. The response therefore covers the task but leaves important ideas unclear or under-developed. To strengthen it, explain when acceptance might be sensible, then support each side with a concrete example before making your judgement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the response moves from an introduction to reasons for change, then a contrasting paragraph and a conclusion. Signposting such as “However,” “On the other side of the coin,” and “In the conclusion” helps identify these stages. Nevertheless, the overall progression is not consistently clear. The paragraph beginning “Keep the situation as it is” contains several ideas in one long sequence, while the paragraph about “a boy” shifts to health, wages, routine, and community without clear links. Some connectors are also used mechanically or do not express the relationship precisely. Use one focused paragraph for each view, develop its main point in a logical order, and make references such as “these things” and “this situation” clearly identify what they mean.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “potential,” “prosperity,” “compromise,” and “crucial steps,” and phrases such as “out of the box” show an effort to express ideas beyond basic statements. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “things,” “good,” and “change,” and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make meaning harder to follow. Examples include “undiserable job,” “daily vages,” “legacy of his life,” and “worth less”; these do not communicate the intended meanings reliably. Spelling errors are also noticeable throughout. Build a more precise topic vocabulary for employment, financial hardship, and personal wellbeing, and check spelling and collocations so that ambitious expressions sound natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example “even your are not caliber enough to change these situations in a short period of time,” and you use contrastive structures to present both sides. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, so the reader sometimes has to work to understand the intended meaning. Errors include “While other are,” “keep on improving … it is a good thing,” “Keep the situation as it is will no benefits you,” and “you stucked in a endless loop.” These show recurring problems with agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “although,” “because,” and “while.”
