Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals argue that it is better to accept a bad situation, like shortage of money and poor work environment, while other say that people should try much hrder to get a good opportunities which develop their personality and skills. I believe that people work harder to achieve good job in well known firm and improve their lifestyle.

On the one hand, people who say accept a bad situation is best for person. Because, finding a job in the current circumstances is very hard for young generation as well for older people. For example, in Pakistan economy crisis and inflation affect large number of businesses and firms, therefore huge amount of population lost their job and other working on low salaries. In addition, several firms are paying less wages to the employees.

Some individuals believe that is good to try harder rather then working in toxic environment. If people work in the unsatisfactory job place, they get stress and face many health problems. Furthermore, working harder and get a better position in well known industry develop person skills and personality. for example, a young graduation student struggle more for the job and in the last he secure the position in Nestle. As a result, he gets higher salary pakage than small firms and he has higher chance of promotion in the fututre.

In conclusion, sometime people accept bad situation because they cannot find good position from other companies. Similarly, some try more to get better job because they want to develop their skills and want better opportunity in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state your position in the introduction: you favour working to improve one’s circumstances. The discussion of acceptance is relevant, especially the example of economic hardship and low wages in Pakistan, while the second view is supported by the contrast between a small firm and Nestlé. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the reasons for accepting a bad situation are mostly about difficulty finding work, and the essay does not explain when acceptance might be sensible or temporary. Your own opinion is clear at the start but less explicit in the conclusion, which mainly restates both views. Develop each argument with a fuller explanation and make your final judgement unmistakable.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of discussion easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “On the one hand,” “In addition,” “Furthermore,” and “As a result.” At times, however, the connections feel mechanical, and some sentence boundaries interrupt the flow—for example, “Because, finding a job…” is separated from the preceding claim, leaving a fragment. The conclusion repeats the two positions without clearly connecting them to your own view. Use fewer formulaic transitions, link explanations directly to the claims they support, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for work and economic circumstances, including “inflation,” “low salaries,” “toxic environment,” “promotion,” and “develop their personality and skills.” These choices help communicate the topic, and some less common terms are attempted. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling reduce precision: “good opportunities,” “salary pakage,” “working on low salaries,” and “in the last he secure” are not natural or correctly formed expressions. Spelling errors such as “hrder” and “fututre” also stand out. Aim to learn vocabulary in complete phrases and check spelling carefully; more precise expressions would make your arguments sound clearer and more academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “therefore” and a conditional sentence with “If people work…”. The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical control occur across the response. For example, “Because, finding a job…” is an incomplete sentence, and “other say” and “he secure” show subject–verb agreement problems. There are also issues with articles and sentence boundaries, as in “in the unsatisfactory job place” and the lowercase “for example” after a full stop. Practise building complete sentences around each main clause, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to read.
