Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people believe that is best to accept a bad situation, that help the people to getting short term stability and reduces the stress . striving to improve it generally for greater long term growth and financial well being .

To accept the bad situation is good for short term . It is reduce the stress and axiety level of the person and avoid the risk of any major risk related to health. futhermore accepting the situation that you can not win , allowing to people to focus on their daily work . sometimes the bad situation can teach a people to big lesson .

for example, a person have not enough money to pay their bills . and they thinks too much ,so that cause stress or axiety . therefore accepting the bad situation is good when you know that you can't win or do .

On the other hand take a step to improving such situations. learning a new skills for changina job or take some personal decisions for money.that helps the people to lead a happy life. Tolerating hardships can build patience and teach individuals to appreciate small comforts.

In conclusion, while accepting unavoidable hardships can protect a person's wellbeing, most difficulties involving work and money are, in fact, changeable. I therefore believe that, wherever it is realistically possible, people should strive to improve their situations rather than settle for them, since this path leads not only to better material conditions but also to greater resilience and self-respect.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear opinion in the conclusion: accepting hardship may protect wellbeing, but people should improve situations where possible. The discussion of acceptance includes relevant points about stress, health and focusing on daily work, while the improvement paragraph mentions learning skills and making financial decisions. However, these ideas are not developed equally. The example about someone unable to pay bills mainly repeats the point about stress, and the benefits of taking action are asserted rather than illustrated or explained. To strengthen the response, explain when a situation is genuinely unavoidable, then give a specific example of how training or a practical decision could improve employment or finances.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has an overall structure that is easy to recognise: it introduces the two positions, discusses acceptance, presents the case for improvement, and ends with your view. Paragraphing helps distinguish the main stages, and phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” guide the reader. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, particularly where the example about bills follows several similar points about stress without adding a distinct step in the argument. Some links are also mechanical, and the opening fragment does not clearly connect the two views. Use topic sentences to state each paragraph’s main claim, then connect each explanation and example explicitly to that claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “short term stability,” “financial well being,” “hardships,” “resilience” and “self-respect.” The conclusion also shows an attempt to express nuanced ideas, such as distinguishing unavoidable hardships from changeable difficulties. However, word choice, spelling and collocation are inconsistent and sometimes make the meaning less precise. Examples include “axiety,” “futhermore,” “a big lesson,” and “take a step to improving”; “personal decisions for money” is also unclear. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and checking spelling and word forms. More precise expressions would help you explain the contrast between accepting circumstances and taking practical action.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the final sentence uses a clear concessive structure: “while accepting unavoidable hardships can protect a person's wellbeing…” However, control is uneven, and some sentence errors make the opening and supporting points difficult to follow. For example, “Some people believe that is best to accept a bad situation, that help…” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “It is reduce the stress” has an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “a person have” and the fragment beginning “for example.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and punctuation.
