Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation such as shortage of money and bad luck. Other argue that it is better to try improve such situations. This essay will discuss both views and i believe that trying to improve is better.

On the one hand, some people say that it is good to accept a bad situation. First of all, the main reason to give the pece of mind. Secondly, if a person has an unsatisfactory job, accepting it can reduce stress and anxiety. Also, not everything our control. Sometime, people leave the job for without another jon they create the finanical issue for family. As a result accept is the best choice

On the other hand, Ibelieve it is a better to try to improve the situation. However, if we accept a bad job or shortage of money, our life will never improve. Moreover, we should try to learn new skills, work harder or find a better job. Hence, if individuals try to find better job with spirt and confidence they will be successful to find it. For instance, if someone is an electrician and his incomeis low, he can learn new technologies like solar panel fitting to earn more money. In addition, this kind of effoet leads to progress and success. Finally, people who try to improve their lives are more confident and happy.

In conclusion, although accepting a bad situation can give mental peace, To sum up, I think it is more beneficial to make an effort to improve it. This will help to a better future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state your position clearly: “I believe that trying to improve is better.” The response also gives relevant reasons, including the stress-reducing effect of keeping an unsatisfactory job and the risks of leaving without another job. Your electrician example, involving learning solar-panel installation, usefully supports the case for making an effort. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the acceptance argument is brief and its point about peace of mind is not fully explained, while the improvement argument has more detail. The conclusion repeats the preference but could more clearly synthesise why it outweighs the benefits of acceptance. Develop each main reason with a fuller explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “For instance” help readers follow the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “First of all, the main reason to give the pece of mind” is not a complete, clearly linked explanation, and “As a result accept is the best choice” does not clearly follow from the preceding point. The conclusion also uses both “In conclusion” and “To sum up,” which is repetitive. Improve progression by making each paragraph’s points build logically and by using referencing and linking phrases more precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “unsatisfactory job,” “stress and anxiety,” “shortage of money,” and “learn new skills.” The solar-panel example also gives the discussion some specific language. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts less clear, such as “pece of mind,” “finanical issue,” “spirt and confidence,” and “effoet.” Phrases such as “try improve” and “find better job” also show that vocabulary is not consistently used in natural combinations. Aim to learn useful topic phrases as complete expressions and check spelling carefully; this will make your meaning more precise and fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if someone is an electrician … he can learn new technologies” and a concessive opening in the conclusion. The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “Other argue” lacks subject–verb agreement, “not everything our control” is missing a verb and preposition, and “if we accept a bad job … our life will never improve” has an unclear singular/plural reference. There are also incomplete or awkward sentence structures, particularly “First of all, the main reason to give the pece of mind.” Practise complete clauses, articles, agreement, and accurate sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
