Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You introduce both positions and signal a personal view with “I have a partial view,” and the first body paragraph gives some relevant considerations, such as waiting for circumstances to improve and a person’s financial or emotional background. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the view that people should try to improve their situation is merely announced in the final line and is not discussed, and your own opinion is not explained. The examples and reasons for accepting a situation are also unclear or incomplete. The response is 89 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to develop both views. Discuss each position in a separate, developed paragraph, then state and support your opinion with a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces the topic, “To commence with” signals the first body paragraph, and “Probing ahead” appears intended to introduce the opposing view. This gives the reader some sense of the planned structure. However, there is no clear overall progression because the second view is not developed, and the response ends abruptly. Several linking phrases are awkward or do not clearly connect ideas, such as “In addition to this is that,” while the long opening sentence combines several points without clear boundaries. Use a clear introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Connect each reason to the next with simple, accurate transitions and make the relationship between ideas explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related expressions, including “accept the situation,” “financial and emotional background,” and “betterment of the situation.” These show an effort to discuss the issue beyond very basic vocabulary. However, word choice and spelling errors are frequent enough to make some ideas difficult to understand. Phrases such as “short levrage of expenses,” “shade light,” and “engender why” are unclear or unnatural, and “masses” is not an appropriate way to refer to people holding an opinion. Some words are also repeated, particularly “situation” and “condition.” Choose familiar, precise expressions rather than forcing uncommon vocabulary, and check spelling and collocations. For example, “financial difficulties” and “shed light on” would communicate your meaning more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You make some attempts to form longer sentences and use subordinate ideas, for example, “Sometimes a period of time scenario get automatically normal.” However, the range of sentence structures is very limited, and frequent errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes obscure meaning. In “everything has its own right time to perform,” the clause is not expressed naturally as a complete, clear idea; “He is capable to survive or not without job” also has faulty structure and missing articles. Capitalisation and spacing after commas are inconsistent, and the opening contains several sentences joined without clear punctuation. Practise writing accurate simple sentences first, then add one controlled complex structure at a time. Check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
