Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays some people argue that it is superlative to accept detrimental circumstances like lack of money or unsatisfactory job in life by adapting to it. Whereas, others believe that it is better to work on it and to improve such situations. In my opinion, we have to put an effort to elavate the harsh situations in life through hardwork which give us the motivation to live happily.
To begin with, at a particular point of life it is usual to face a unplanned and unsatisfactory situation. It is evident that in this society a significant number of people adapt such circumstances and life along with it. The main motivation behind it should be the commitments in their life. From my personal experience, I have a friend who wants to join in medical field after her secondary garduation. However, her family was not able to afford such a significant amount she chose another field which she never admired.
On the other hand, we have another section who always workhard despite of the troubles in life. A best example for this is A P J Abdual Kalam. He was a well-known scientist and president of India. He was te person who came through difficult situations in his life. Instead of coping up with such situations he fough with all physical, mentaal and finacial struggles in his life. For instances, from his autobiography he explained an incident regarding studying under the street light. This is a best example that we have to try our level best to overcome the harsh struggles rather than accepting it which give
In conclusion, rather than accepting and adjusting with unsatisfied situation, it is good to work extremely hard to improve ourselves to make life happy and satisfied.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You discuss both views and make your own position clear: you favour trying to improve difficult circumstances. The examples are relevant, particularly your friend’s decision to leave her preferred field because of financial constraints and the account of A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s perseverance. However, the first view is explained mainly through one personal example, and the reasons people may accept a situation—such as family responsibilities or limited opportunities—are only briefly mentioned. The second example is also not fully connected to how effort can improve circumstances, and the final sentence of that paragraph is incomplete. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and show more explicitly how each example supports your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion, and the main position remains easy to identify. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the stronger progression associated with the next level. However, links between ideas within paragraphs are less secure: the explanation of your friend’s circumstances is brief, while the Kalam example moves from his background to the street-light incident without fully explaining the connection. The second body paragraph also ends abruptly at “which give.” Complete the thought and use clearer links between claims, examples, and their relevance.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “detrimental circumstances,” “commitments,” “overcome,” and “financial struggles.” These choices show an effort to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, several inaccurate or unnatural choices make the wording less clear, such as “superlative to accept,” “elavate the harsh situations,” “life along with it,” and “fought with” struggles. Spelling errors, including “garduation,” “Abdual,” and “mentaal,” also reduce accuracy. The range is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, but control of collocation, word form, and spelling is inconsistent. Prefer familiar, precise expressions when unsure, and check spelling and common word partnerships during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a friend who wants to join in medical field” and a contrast introduced by “Instead of.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. Examples include “a unplanned” instead of “an unplanned,” “a significant number” used with awkward sentence structure, and “which give us” where the verb does not agree with the intended subject. The fragment “Whereas, others believe…” should be joined to the preceding sentence, and the final clause of the Kalam paragraph is incomplete. Work on articles, agreement, and complete sentence boundaries, while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
