Student answer (Band 6.0)
Sometimes people get confused during the toughest period of their life. Many individuals argue that accepting a bad situation in life like job dissatisfaction and money shortage is best, while others believe that trying to improve these situation is a better idea. In my opinion, people should try to think for positive alternatives instead of being stuck in a poor situation.
There are some reasons why many believe that it is best to tolerate such bad circumstances. Firstly, they think of keeping patience. They think that bad time came for a short period and after some time it will be ok and everything will be normal. Another reason is that, they do not have enough confidence or skills to think of alternatives, such as changing jobs, try earn more money. That is why they just wait for the bad time to pass.
On the other hand, those who believe that the better way is to get rid of these situation, give following reasons. Firstly, they are very wellknown about their position whether it will improve or not. If they are sure that there is no future in that job or no chance of earning more money, they will simply leave the job or find other ways to income more. For example, try different start ups, change region to get better jobs. They have enough confidence and skills to do better with other job or business to make money.
From my perspective, people should go for alternatives instead of waiting by thinking that good time will come. Good time will not come if we just sit and watch. We have to take actions to get rid of the bad patches of our life.
In conclusion, people should change jobs if they do not feel satisfaction and find other ways to earn money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear opinion: you explain why some people wait for circumstances to improve and argue that taking action is preferable. The examples of leaving an unpromising job, starting a business, or moving for work are relevant. However, the two sides are not developed equally in depth. The reasons for accepting a bad situation—patience and a lack of confidence or skills—are stated briefly, while the case for change is also mostly asserted rather than explained. For instance, you could clarify when patience is sensible, or show how a specific action can improve someone’s prospects. Your conclusion repeats your position but could draw together the discussion more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the progression easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly” and “On the other hand” help distinguish the arguments. The organisation is coherent, though some linking is mechanical and the final opinion paragraph largely repeats the introduction rather than advancing the discussion. References such as “these situation” and “they” can also leave the reader unsure exactly what is being referred to. To strengthen cohesion, use a wider range of natural transitions and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports, while avoiding repeated statements of the same position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “job dissatisfaction,” “alternatives,” “confidence,” and “earn money.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which makes parts of the argument less precise. Examples include “bad time came for a short period,” “wellknown about their position,” “ways to income more,” and “bad patches of our life.” Some expressions are repeated, particularly “bad situation” and “good time.” Aim to learn natural word partnerships and use more precise terms for employment and financial circumstances. Check spelling and word forms as well, including “well-known” and “start-ups.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If they are sure that there is no future in that job … they will simply leave the job.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “these situation” needs plural agreement, “bad time came” has an unsuitable verb form, and “such as changing jobs, try earn more money” does not maintain a consistent grammatical pattern. There are also errors in sentence construction, as in “those who believe …, give following reasons.” Practise accurate agreement, verb forms, and parallel structures, then proofread each sentence for a complete and correctly formed clause.
