Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the world, people are either ruled by their fate or hardwork. Many of them believe that unfavourable circumstances such as shortage of money is because of their fortune and eventually they accept them. However, this is not true for all the individuals. Most people are driven by hard work and passion, which give them motivation to improve difiicult situations. In my opinion, hard work is required to deal with such problems rather than accepting them.
Fate has significant influence on most people. This kind of individuals accept their worse conditions as a result of their doing or karma and do not do anything to overcome them. These people lack confidence and faith in themselves. Additionally, they are also defeated by their mind, which prevent them to improve such situations. For example, if an employee has an unsatisfaction about his job, he may countinue the job for the rest of his life, as he lacks enough career relevent skills or has a family to provide for. These kind of people are mostly defeated in their lives and lack sufficient level of judgement for improvement.
On the other hand, some individuals think exact opposite of the above mindset. These are ruled by hard work and determination to achieve something in their life. These have sufficient level of self-confidence and wisdom to overcome worse conditions. For instance, in India, the prime minister Narendra Modi is a perfect example for this category, as he was once a tea seller in a small village and did not have enough money for his survival. But eventually, his passion and a strong will helped him to overcome this barrier. In my opinion, people should read about famous influencial individuals who are driven by a strong mindset and also surround themselves with good energy or people that provides them a motivation to work better.
In conclusion, sometimes bad circumstances are crucial as they provide us a way to learn something from them, while this should not remain same as always. Hard-work and a strong urge to overcome such situations eventually result in a better life style. In my opinion, an individual must develop confidence and faith in order to handle and improve any bad situation rather than doing nothing, as per a famous saying " if you live poor, it is your fate but if you die poor, it is your mistake."

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address both views and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the opening and conclusion. The examples of an employee staying in an unsatisfactory job and Narendra Modi’s rise from poverty help illustrate the contrasting positions. Your ideas are generally relevant and extended, which supports this level. However, the discussion sometimes becomes broad or judgemental: describing people who accept their situation as “defeated” and lacking judgement does not fully explain why acceptance may be a reasonable choice, such as when change is risky or responsibilities limit options. Develop that side more fairly, and connect your advice about reading biographies and choosing supportive company more directly to the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the other hand,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. This is a coherent arrangement, and the main position remains visible. To make the organisation more flexible and precise, improve links between claims and evidence. For instance, the employee example is followed by a general judgement about people’s lives rather than a clear explanation of why accepting the job may be understandable. References such as “These kind of people” and “this barrier” are also not always precise. Use clearer referencing and avoid relying on repeated “these people” constructions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “unfavourable circumstances,” “determination,” “self-confidence,” and “overcome.” However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “people,” “situations,” and “hard work,” and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision. Examples include “difiicult,” “unsatisfaction,” “career relevent,” and “influencial.” Phrases such as “ruled by hard work” and “good energy” are understandable but not natural in this context. Aim to learn vocabulary in accurate phrases, and proofread spelling and word forms. More precise language for financial hardship, job dissatisfaction, and practical constraints would help express the ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “which,” and “while,” and the overall meaning is usually clear. However, errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction occur often enough to limit accuracy. For example, “shortage of money is” needs a plural subject or a different construction, “which prevent them” should agree with its singular antecedent, and “These kind of people” requires a plural demonstrative or singular noun. The sentence beginning “In my opinion, people should read…” also becomes crowded by several linked ideas. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and noun phrases, and divide long sentences where needed while retaining a mix of structures.
