Student answer (Band 6.5)
Different people react to various situations based on their personal conviction. Some people firmly believe that accepting a bad scenario, such as job dissatisfaction or financial problems, is the only best solution while some people argue that instead of accepting an unfavorable scenario, it is better to take action and improve it altogether. Although accepting a situation can offer peace of mind, I believe that making efforts to improving one's situation is generally more beneficial.
Some problems are beyond people's control and constantly worrying about them affects their mental health. Furthermore, acceptance of reality allows people to focus on their personal development instead of remaining dissatisfied all the time. For example, a person who is unable to find better-paying job due to limited opportunities will be more likely to
accept their current position and apprciate the financial stability it provides.
While accepting the reality seems beneficial in some situations, it is better to thrive and improve the overall situation. It can lead to personal growth and improves the quality of life. People can develop new skills, plan strategies and explore opportunities to overcome the hurdles and achieve their goals. Moreover, accepting a bad situation and working hard to tackle it can build confidence and promote self-realization in one's personality. For instance, a person facing financial crisis can search for a highly paid job and learn relevant skills to obtain it.
In conclusion, accepting difficult situation can help maintain metal peace whereas trying to improve them can create more opportunities. I believe people should work hard to improve their situations whenever possible while accepting situations that are geniunely beyond their reach.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response discusses both perspectives and gives a clear personal view: acceptance can protect peace of mind, while taking action is generally more beneficial. The examples about limited job opportunities and responding to financial difficulty are relevant and help illustrate the contrast. This meets the task well overall, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that acceptance supports personal development could be linked more explicitly to how someone might use that stability, and the benefits of learning skills or seeking better work could be developed with a more specific outcome. To strengthen the response, explain the conditions under which acceptance is sensible and distinguish these from situations that can realistically be changed, while extending each example to show its consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from acceptance to improvement is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “While,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This is coherent, though some linking is rather formulaic, and connections between individual claims could be made more explicit. For example, the paragraph on improvement moves from personal growth to confidence and then to a financial example without fully showing how these ideas relate. The example in the acceptance paragraph also ends abruptly across a line break. Use clearer internal links and develop each paragraph around one central point to make the progression more consistently smooth.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “personal development,” “financial stability,” “overcome the hurdles,” and “self-realization.” These choices allow you to discuss both emotional and practical aspects of difficult circumstances. There are also some inaccurate or unnatural expressions that limit precision, such as “the only best solution,” “thrive and improve the overall situation,” and “promote self-realization in one’s personality.” Spelling slips in “apprciate,” “metal,” and “geniunely” are noticeable, although the intended meaning remains clear. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, “the only best solution” could be replaced with “the best option,” and “improve the overall situation” with “improve one’s circumstances.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
The response includes a mix of simple and complex forms, including subordinate clauses such as “Although accepting a situation can offer peace of mind” and “whenever possible while accepting situations…”. Most sentences communicate their meaning clearly, but some grammatical errors remain. In “it is better to take action and improve it altogether,” the pronoun reference is unclear; “it” should refer explicitly to the situation. “A person who is unable to find better-paying job” needs an article before “better-paying job,” and “efforts to improving” should use the infinitive form “efforts to improve.” The conclusion also has a singular/plural mismatch in “accepting difficult situation.” Review articles, verb patterns after “to,” and agreement, while continuing to use varied sentence structures.
