Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some say that it is better to go along with a bad situation, such as the uninterested or lack of money. While others argue that it is okey to try and chance such situations. I believe, on balance, that try to make the path better and face the hardships is best.

On the one hand, Due to our personal are family, like shortage of money, which create a need to accept and do the unsatisfactory job. For example, the only son has the responsibility to do job and earn money to help their family, if they face any difficulties, however which sometimes lead to leave their passion and accept the situation.

On the other hand, everyone has to face challenges in their lifetime, so instead of accepting a bad situation, try to improve it, which can make future better. For instance, you need money for college of your dream cours, but the family cannot affort it, instead of leaving the dream we can earn money by taking short break and doing some part-time jobs and later you can pay the fee by yourself, so it not only make you strong but also mature in life and brings you confidense to face any suituation that come later on.

In conclusion, going with a bad situation sometimes it is good, but in long run facing in and solving the problem is better, i believe that improve our bad situation and make it better, it not only make a person mature, but also help in gaining experiance to challenge any problem in life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances. The first body paragraph gives a relevant reason for accepting an unsatisfactory job: family responsibilities and the need to earn money. The second offers a practical example of working part-time to fund a desired course, which supports your position. This covers the task well, but the discussion is uneven: the reasons for accepting a bad situation are only briefly explained, and the example about education could be linked more explicitly to improving a wider difficult situation. To strengthen the response, develop each view with a clearer explanation of its consequences and make your opinion more precise throughout, rather than relying mainly on the conclusion to restate it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The contrastive openings “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the discussion, and the examples generally appear in the relevant paragraphs. However, progression within sentences is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the first body paragraph, where the example and the point about leaving a passion are joined unclearly. The conclusion also repeats several ideas without adding a concise synthesis. Use clearer sentence boundaries and make references explicit—for example, specify who “they” refers to in the family example. This would make the overall organisation more consistently smooth rather than occasionally mechanical or unclear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “shortage of money,” “responsibility,” “part-time jobs,” and “challenges.” There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “face the hardships” and “make you strong.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the response harder to understand. “The uninterested” does not clearly express an unsatisfactory job, while “chance such situations” appears to mean change them. Forms such as “affort,” “confidense,” and “experiance” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural phrases for discussing financial pressure and career choices, and check spelling and word forms carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “if,” and “which.” This shows some range, but complex sentences are often not controlled successfully, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “I believe…that try to make the path better…is best” lacks a clear grammatical structure, and “which sometimes lead to leave their passion” has problems with clause construction and verb patterns. There are also errors in agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “it not only make you strong” and the opening fragment beginning “While others argue.” Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and infinitive patterns when combining ideas.
