Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is an ongoing debate about whether to accept a poor situtation, such as unsatisfactory job or low on finances. Other people believe that it is good to accept and move on for improving the situation. I believe, it is better to just work for improving the bad situation.

On the one hand, there are various causes that leads to a poor situation such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of finances. Some of the causes are no education, no family support, no motivation, living life in comfort zone. These are some of the causes that can lead to poor situation . However, i believe that there is nothing in life that you can't achieve without doing the hardwork.

On the other hand, people argue that people should work hard to improve the situation. They believe that by just accepting the situation there is nothing that you can do to improve the lifestyle. By working only you can change your life condition. For example by completing your education or by learning the new skill that will help you to upgrade in life. There are many people in life that we can look upto such as Ambani, they had nothing in the start but now they all are millionare by doing all the hardwork and gaining education. Today they have multiple businesses.

Hence, we can clearly see that the second opinion outweighs the first opinion. So it clear that people should just start working hard . I personaly also believe in the second opinion to work hard.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear preference for improving a difficult situation, and the examples of education and learning a new skill are relevant to that view. However, the task asks you to discuss both perspectives, and the first view—accepting a bad situation—is not really explained. The opening also confuses the positions by saying that people believe it is good to “accept and move on for improving the situation.” Most of the response instead lists causes of hardship or argues for hard work, so the discussion is only partial and the ideas remain general. To strengthen the response, explain why someone might accept a situation, such as valuing stability or recognising limits, then develop your own position with a specific, clearly connected example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help identify sections. However, the progression is not consistently logical: the first body paragraph discusses causes of hardship rather than the view of accepting it, while the second presents the opposing view and your own argument together. The opening sentence also makes the positions difficult to follow, and the conclusion repeats the preference for hard work without drawing together the discussion. Some linking phrases, including “Hence” and “So,” are repetitive. Organise one paragraph around each view, use clear references to connect examples to claims, and make the conclusion summarise the comparison.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “shortage of finances,” “education,” “skill” and “businesses.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or informal, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For example, “low on finances” and “upgrade in life” are not natural choices in this context, while “hardwork” is incorrectly written as one word. There are also spelling errors such as “situtation,” “millionare” and “personaly,” and the repeated use of “work hard” limits variety. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing financial difficulty, job satisfaction and personal improvement, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex structures, including “Some of the causes are…” and “by completing your education or by learning the new skill,” but most sentences follow simple patterns and errors are frequent. Examples include the agreement error “causes that leads,” the missing article in “such as unsatisfactory job,” and the faulty construction “there is nothing in life that you can't achieve without doing the hardwork.” The sentence beginning “For example by completing…” is also incomplete as written, and “So it clear” omits a verb. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, as in lowercase “i” and spaces before full stops. Practise accurate sentence boundaries, articles, subject–verb agreement and complete clauses before adding more complex structures.
