Student answer (Band 6.0)
Life can become a hassle sometimes, bringing about many arduous circumstances, one has never cognized about. In those situations, people are left with two opposing choices, either to name it as fate and move on, or to battle with the destiny itself by putting efforts to alter the conditions.
There has always been a striking divergence of opinion between proponents of pragmatism who pose that we should accept the cruel principle that one cannot always obtain what one desires for, and advocates for stoicism who argue that struggling for betterment is necessary. It can be asserted that while both approaches are logical in certain circumstances, the practicality lies in trying best for the betterment of situation.
Although accepting a bad situation might sound a unambitious reaction, it has application in certain conditions. The aspects which a person has no control over would leave them with no choice but the surrender to destiny. A student with decreased father, for example, might have to drop-out from their educational institute despite having a grit and inclination towards academics. Consequently, it is imperative to acknowledge the limitations.
Optimists, however, present the idea that you should keep attempting to make your circumstances better. This mindset, they say, serves as a catalyst for the greater change required for a constructive change leading to better employement opportunities or fiscal prospects. Applying for jobs after multiple rejections, for instance, gives a higher chance of future employement as compared to not trying at all due to discouragement. Thus it is necessary not to stop at any defeat or hardship in order to succeed.
In conclusion, while playing with the cards one is dealt can be undeniably true in circumstances, most of the situations require people to keep trying. In my opinion, this is the approach that guarantees the ultimate success even if it takes long struggle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear opinion: accepting limits may be necessary, but people should generally try to improve their circumstances. The examples of a student who must leave education and a job seeker continuing after rejection are relevant and help explain each position. However, the first example is not fully clear or developed, and the discussion of acceptance focuses mainly on circumstances outside a person’s control rather than explaining when accepting a difficult situation is preferable. Your conclusion also claims that persistence “guarantees” success, which is stronger than the essay’s evidence supports. Develop the comparison more evenly and qualify your position to show that effort is valuable but cannot ensure a particular outcome.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: the introduction presents the two choices, separate body paragraphs discuss each view, and the conclusion restates your position. Linking expressions such as “Although,” “however,” “Consequently,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. This meets the lower-band expectation for coherent arrangement and shows some flexibility in connecting ideas. At times, though, the links feel formulaic, and some references are unclear. For example, “this mindset” and “they say” refer back to the optimists, but the sentence that follows contains several ideas and makes the relationship between change, employment, and finances difficult to track. Use shorter, more direct links between claims and examples, and make pronoun references explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonably broad vocabulary and attempt less common expressions, including “arduous circumstances,” “divergence of opinion,” “limitations,” and “fiscal prospects.” These choices show ambition, but some are inaccurate or unnatural in context, such as “cognized about,” “decreased father,” and “battle with the destiny itself.” There are also spelling errors in “employement,” and phrases such as “constructive change leading to a constructive change” are repetitive. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they limit precision and naturalness. Prefer familiar, accurate collocations over ornate wording, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex structures, including a concession clause beginning “Although accepting a bad situation…” and a relative clause in “the aspects which a person has no control over.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “a unambitious reaction” needs the article “an,” while “but the surrender to destiny” has an unnecessary article. The opening sentence also joins two complete ideas with a comma, creating a comma splice. In “the practicality lies in trying best,” the structure needs an object or possessive form, such as “trying one’s best.” Review articles, sentence boundaries, and verb patterns, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
