Student answer (Band 6.5)
While a few people think that is favourable to be okay with negative circumstances; like being discontent with your job or lack of funds, others contradict that one should try and improve such problems.
Many people resort to accepting an uncomfortable situation in order to prevent distress. Accepting a bad situation, would mean an individual could diverge possible conflicts that could have arised through confrontation. For example, a job that exploits an employee could feel dissatisfactory, but accepting attitude can instill more harmony within the team and help achieve objectives without conflicts. In addition, being tolerant with negative conditions reflects well on an individual's values. A person who can show forbearing attitude during difficult times; like lack of financial stability is considered more esteemed in their morale generally.
On the other side, leniency under negative circumstances can be a sign of lack of strength. Employees who protest for their well being and satisfaction during employment are taken in higher regard, and depict more self respect. This shows their ability to improve their self worth and navigate their way out of uncomfortable situations. Moreover, individuals who try to improve their situations are able to witness a higher chance of promotions and better growth trajectory in their career rather than those who accept discomfort in their job life.
To conclude, several people would prefer to accept substandard circumstances in order to avoid conflicts and show higher morale, whereas others are more concious about their self worth and demonstrating strength in order to achieve their career and monetary goals. I personally, believe navgiating through bad situations is beneficial for an individual as it assists them in progressing their career and represents as a symbol of strength.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You discuss both perspectives and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the conclusion. The points about avoiding conflict and showing tolerance explain why some people accept a bad situation, while self-respect and career progress support the opposing view. This covers the task well, but the two sides are not developed equally: the first example about an exploitative job is difficult to reconcile with the claim that acceptance creates harmony, and the point about morale is asserted rather than explained. Your own position is clearest at the end; stating it earlier and supporting it with a specific example would make the response more consistently developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression from accepting hardship to challenging it is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other side” and “To conclude” help readers navigate the argument. Within paragraphs, however, some links feel mechanical, and the relationship between claims is not always explicit. For instance, the example of an exploitative job does not clearly show how acceptance helps achieve team objectives. The conclusion also repeats the main points rather than drawing them together. Make the links between each reason and its example more explicit, and use referencing and transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for the topic, including “financial stability,” “self respect,” “promotions,” and “growth trajectory.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, but some are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “diverge possible conflicts” does not convey avoiding conflict, and “forbearing attitude” and “higher regard” are awkward in their contexts. Spelling errors such as “concious” and “navgiating” also reduce control. Aim for natural collocations rather than choosing formal-sounding words that do not fit the meaning. For example, use “avoid potential conflict” and “a greater chance of promotion.” This would make your ideas clearer while preserving an appropriately formal tone.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “in order to” and “whereas,” and your meaning is generally clear. Some grammatical errors remain. In the opening, “think that is favourable” is missing a clear subject or structure; “think it is preferable” would be more accurate. The sentence “Accepting a bad situation, would mean…” has an unnecessary comma, while “a person who can show forbearing attitude” needs an article before “forbearing.” The final sentence also has awkward clause construction in “represents as a symbol of strength.” These issues do not usually prevent understanding, but checking sentence boundaries, articles, and clause patterns would improve accuracy and control.
