Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views: the first body paragraph explains that accepting limited income may help people manage within their means and avoid conflict, while the next presents striving for better-paid work as a route to improved living standards. Your final sentence also signals a preference for striving, but the position is not fully clear or consistently developed; the conclusion gives benefits to both approaches without directly stating which you consider better. The ideas remain general, with no specific example or explanation of when acceptance might be preferable. The response is also 41 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop the discussion. State your opinion clearly and support each view with a concrete example and fuller reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding comparison. The transitions “On the other hand” and “but” help signal contrast, so the reader can follow the broad direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several claims are placed next to one another without showing how they connect—for example, the first body paragraph moves from avoiding conflict to managing needs and then to avoiding illness. The conclusion repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together into a clear final position. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and make the paragraph sequence build towards an explicit opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “standard of living,” “productive,” “resources,” and “competitive mind set.” These choices show an effort to discuss economic circumstances rather than relying only on basic terms. However, the range is limited and many spelling errors or inaccurate word choices make the writing difficult to read at points, such as “adoptation,” “relutant,” “oppourtunities,” and “profitability.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “a little of money” and “taking anxiety of shortage.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Reusing a smaller set of precise expressions is more effective than attempting ambitious wording that does not convey the intended meaning clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use some longer sentence forms, including the contrast in “The adjustment with tough situations … but the strive for more resources …,” and you attempt to connect ideas with clauses. However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to follow. For example, “The argument of people to accommodate with unsatisfactory employment … is considered appropriate” has an unclear structure, while “It adds luxuries and comforts to lives” lacks a clear article before “lives.” The final sentence also joins two complete ideas with a comma and has inconsistent punctuation. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries.
