Student answer (Band 6.0)

Few people think that facing difficult situations, including money shortages or doing jobs without good appeal is good, while others opine that taking appropriate actions to overcome particular conditions are better. I agree with the latter point of view through this essay, and I will present arguments for both views.

On the one hand, facing difficult situation helps to improve personal qualities including critical thinking and tolerance, which are vital for the sucess in both personal and professional lives of human beings. When people have to face any kind of bad situation in their lives, they have to tolerate their conditions as a one temporary moment in their lives. The truth is that not all situations are permanent throuh out the entire life. In addition to that, when person have to deal with the difficult environment in their professional life, it automatically lead to improve their critical thinking abilities to survive in the particular job for long run.

On the other hand, all the difficult situations are not always unavoidable. People can take actions to overcome such situations while facing such situations. These situations also create important opportunities for the people. When people have lack of money, they should understand the reasons for money reeduction in their life and have to take relevant actions to save money which they earn. In adition to that, if they have to do unlike job as a income generating way in their life, they have to work hard and obtain relevant skills to do a new job which is more appeal and gain satisfaction for their minds.

In conclusion, I think that it is most suitable to take relevant actions to overcome difficult situations in our life while facing them instead of rather accepting them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference for taking action, particularly in the introduction and conclusion. The discussion of acceptance is relevant: you explain that difficult circumstances may build tolerance and critical thinking, while the second body paragraph gives practical examples involving budgeting and gaining skills for a more satisfying job. This meets the task well overall. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained—for example, how an unsatisfactory job develops critical thinking, or when accepting a situation might be wiser than trying to change it. To strengthen the response, develop each view with a more specific example and explain the limits or consequences of the approach before reaffirming your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from acceptance to active improvement is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers navigate the argument. This provides a coherent foundation. At times, however, linking is mechanical or repetitive, especially the repeated use of “situations” and “In addition to that.” Some references are also unclear, as in “these situations” after several possible conditions have been mentioned. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make links between claims explicit; for instance, show how the example of saving money supports the argument that action can improve circumstances.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “critical thinking,” “tolerance,” “overcome,” and “relevant skills.” There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “money shortages” and “income generating,” but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “jobs without good appeal,” “money reeduction,” “unlike job,” and “more appeal.” Spelling slips such as “sucess,” “throuh,” and “adition” also weaken control. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Replacing awkward phrases with expressions such as “an unsatisfying job,” “a drop in income,” and “a more rewarding job” would make the argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “When” and “which,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries occur often enough to limit accuracy. For example, “facing difficult situation helps” needs a plural or an article, “when person have” has agreement and article problems, and “it automatically lead” should agree with “it.” The sentence ending “in their lives. The truth” also needs a space after the full stop. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject–verb match, correct articles, and complete punctuation. More accurate control of these patterns would make your complex sentences easier to follow.
