Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and state a clear position: the introduction says it is better to improve bad situations, and the conclusion reinforces this. The discussion of acceptance gives relevant reasons, including avoiding the stress of job searching and living within one’s means; the opposing view is supported with the example of resolving conflict. This covers the task, but the ideas are not developed evenly. The stress of job searching is illustrated with several steps, whereas the claim that improvement builds “valuable character” is broad and its link to the community is not fully explained. The point about leaving an unsatisfactory job is also asserted rather than supported. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each reason and add a specific example that supports your own position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The contrast between the positions is easy to follow, and signposts such as “However,” “Additionally,” and “In conclusion” help readers navigate the argument. This gives the response coherent progression, although some linking is mechanical and a few connections are unclear. For example, “Which can be quite tedious” is separated from the sentence it refers to, while “although” and “However” are both used to introduce the same contrast in the conclusion. The ideas within the second body paragraph also move quickly from character-building to community peace and then job satisfaction. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim and its supporting explanation more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to discuss the topic, including phrases such as “unsatisfactory job,” “unnecessary conflict,” “valuable character,” and “more satisfying life.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and there are attempts to use more formal language. However, the range and control are uneven: several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, and spelling errors are noticeable, including “wll,” “socety,” and “unsatifying.” Some collocations also sound unnatural, such as “attempt making situations better” and “create a good image for an individual.” Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could describe “improving situations” as “addressing adverse circumstances,” and use “enhance one’s reputation” instead of “create a good image.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening with “While” and a conditional construction in the conclusion. The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries reduce accuracy. Examples include “There has being” instead of “There has been,” “One of the major reason” instead of “reasons,” and “benefits comes” instead of “benefits come.” The fragment “Which can be quite tedious” should be joined to the preceding sentence, and “although” followed by “However” creates an incomplete contrast structure. Work on checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and revise sentence boundaries so that dependent clauses are attached to complete sentences. More consistently accurate complex sentences would improve control.
