Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that people should accept the situation they are living with. Some people believe that the most effective approach to deal with bad situation, such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of money is to accept the situation because people have their family responsibilities to fulfil. While other say that people should not give up, they should try and improve such scenarios because individuals wants to take risk and achieve better in their life. This essay will discuss both views and give my opinion.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why some individuals believe to accept the bad situations. This is because people have their family responsibilities on them to fulfil, which they can not deny or ignore. If individuals start taking risks to start-up their own business or quit jobs, they may have to face financial disturbances, which may lead to mental stress. However, people prefer to continue with an unsatisfactory jobs, to receive stable income, rather then changing their occupation. A clear example of this can be single mother or father who take care of their family and they often afraid of choosing another job over their current job, because their survival would be hard without job.
On the other hand, other people believe that it is always better to improve your status. One of the significant reason is that individuals wants to achieve their goals by working hard, which encourage them to try until they succeeded. These type of individuals have learning attitude. Moreover, individuals who want success in their life, they do not care about money and taking risks. For instance, individuals with high ambitions or who do not have family to take care of, they always take risks to achieve big in their life.
In conclusion, both arguments have their own reasons. In my opinion, it depends on individual situations whether to accept the bad situation or to improve their current situations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a personal position, so the response is relevant to the task. The first view is supported with a clear reason: people may keep an unsatisfactory job to meet family responsibilities and avoid financial stress. The example of a single parent adds some support. However, the discussion of improving one’s situation is less developed: ambition and risk-taking are mentioned, but the essay does not explain how people might improve their circumstances or give a specific example of a successful change. Your conclusion says the choice depends on individual circumstances, but this position is not fully explained or clearly connected to the arguments. Develop both sides more evenly and state your own view more decisively.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and each body paragraph has a central focus. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some stronger control through logical paragraphing. However, links between individual claims are sometimes mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “individuals” and “Moreover.” The relationship between risk-taking and success in the second body paragraph could also be made clearer. Use more precise referencing and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “family responsibilities,” “stable income,” “financial disturbances,” and “high ambitions.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “learning attitude,” although some combinations are unnatural or imprecise. Repetition of “situation,” “individuals,” and “achieve” limits the range, while phrases such as “achieve big” and “do not care about money and taking risks” do not express the intended ideas naturally. These choices are noticeable but the overall meaning remains understandable. Build a more precise range of collocations for employment, financial security, and personal goals, and avoid repeating the same general nouns when a more specific term is available.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If individuals start taking risks … they may have to face financial disturbances” and a relative clause beginning “which may lead to mental stress.” These help convey cause and consequence. However, errors occur across sentence patterns and sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “other say” and “individuals wants” show subject–verb agreement problems; “a unsatisfactory jobs” has article and number errors; and “they often afraid” is missing a verb. Some long sentences also need clearer punctuation and control. Practise checking agreement, articles, and complete verb phrases, then review complex sentences to ensure each clause is grammatically complete.
