Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many argue that it is good to accept a bad situation, such as low potential job or financial crises. Others believe that it is better to try and improve. I believe both the statements are true and should be promoted as by accepting a bad situation you allow yourself to move on and it is crucial to try and improve because that is the only way to make your situation better.
I firmly believe that, it is crucial to accept a bad situation because nothing in the world is permanent and sometimes things go around the way we don’t expect. A person complaining or blaming himself for bad situation like financial crises or low rank job can stay stuck in the same loop for his entire life, other than that it can have several detrimental effects on his mental health such as stress, anxiety, and depression. All these symptoms can lead to poor performance and lack of motivation for work that is why, it is necessary to accept a bad situation.
Furthermore, it is equally important to try and improve bad situations because situations never change on their own, you have to make efforts and stick to the grind in order to make the best out of it. For instance, When a renowned tech figure Elon Musk first time launched his rocket into the space, it brutally crashed and many people started to criticise him but years later he successfully sent a rocket to the moon and also invented a lying car using similar technology of jet thrusters, he used in that rocket.
In conclusion, It is crucial to accept a bad situation and it is equally important to try and make it better.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a position: accepting difficulty can help someone move forward, while effort is needed to improve circumstances. The discussion of acceptance is relevant, especially the link you make between dwelling on hardship and mental health. The example about Elon Musk also supports persistence, although its details are unclear and it does not directly illustrate the job or money situations in the prompt. The two sides are not developed equally: the first is explained through several consequences, while the second relies mainly on one example. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely when acceptance is helpful and give a clearer, more credible example of practical steps to improve a difficult situation. (The response meets the required length; eight words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.)
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from accepting hardship to taking action is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The first body paragraph joins several ideas in a long sentence with “other than that,” and the relationship between acceptance and the listed mental-health effects could be expressed more directly. The Elon Musk example also moves quickly from a failed launch to later achievements. Use clearer links between claims and evidence, and make references such as “that rocket” unambiguous to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for the topic, including “detrimental effects,” “motivation,” “criticise,” and “make efforts.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some less common expressions show an attempt to be precise. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “low potential job,” “financial crises” for a general shortage of money, and “stick to the grind.” “Lying car” appears to be an incorrect word choice and makes the example difficult to understand. There is also repetition of “bad situation” and “crucial.” Aim for more natural topic-specific phrasing and check that each word conveys the intended meaning; this would make the argument clearer and more flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “that,” and “such as,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain. For example, “I believe both the statements are true” needs an article or a different construction, and “a person … for bad situation” is missing an article. In “When a renowned tech figure Elon Musk first time launched,” the word order and article use are faulty; “first launched” would be more natural. Commas are also misplaced in “I firmly believe that, it is crucial” and before “that is why.” Work on articles, sentence boundaries, and punctuation in longer sentences. More consistently accurate complex structures would strengthen control.
