Student answer (Band 6.0)

According to a group of indivduals, it is best to get used to a bad situation like unsatsifactory occupation or lacking of money. While others believe that, it is better to ameliorate such situation in life. In my perspective, I think the latter group is correct because, any bad situation of our life can be changed by consistent efforts and dedication. However, sometimes peer pressure and responsibilities holds back a person from moving forward in life.

Our surroundings has a great impact on your personal life. The perssure of responsibilites and society sometimes influences our life decisions. Lack of confidendce can also be a good reason for a person not trying to grow or change their current situation. For example, a friend of mine always had the dream of pursing higher education in abroad, but his family did not allow him to do that. For this reason he has no other option than staying back in his country and do a job that he do not even wants to do. In my opinion it is not only my friends family pressure but also his lack of confidence resulted him not pursing his ambition.

If someone is consistent and dedicated enough, they can change their life significantly. Every aspects of our life can never be as per our convinence. Some situation will be easier some will be tougher, this is the beauty of life. That's why when a person in not being satisfied with job or the salary they are being paid, instead of being sad and accept it as it is they should try some alternatives and move forward to achieve it. A good example would be, if responsibilites are not allowing someone to leave a job, they should to develop some skills side by side so that they can do well in that particular job.

In conclusion, people should always try to improve their situation even if they are satisfied, thereby they can exceel their own capabilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and make your position clear: you favour trying to improve difficult circumstances, while recognising that social pressure and responsibilities can hold people back. The example of your friend illustrates why someone might remain in an unsatisfactory job, and the later discussion of developing skills offers a relevant way to improve one’s prospects. However, the two views are not explored equally: the reasons for accepting a bad situation are mostly presented as obstacles, rather than as arguments for acceptance, such as stability or unavoidable responsibilities. Some claims, including that any situation can be changed through effort, are also broad and need qualification or support. Develop the case for each view more fully and connect examples directly to the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to a paragraph about barriers, then to the benefits of effort, and finally to a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “For this reason,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes less clear: the first body paragraph shifts from social influence to confidence and then to your friend’s family without fully explaining how these points relate. The conclusion also introduces the idea of improving one’s situation “even if they are satisfied,” which does not follow clearly from the discussion. Use clearer topic sentences and make references such as “this” or “they” unambiguous; vary linking devices so they support rather than simply announce each step.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for the topic, including “consistent efforts,” “peer pressure,” “responsibilities,” “confidence,” and “alternatives.” There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “ameliorate” and “significantly,” though some choices are inaccurate or unnatural in context. Examples include “lacking of money,” “occupation” for an unsatisfactory job, and “exceel their own capabilities.” Spelling errors such as “indivduals,” “perssure,” and “convinence” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Communication remains generally understandable, but more reliable collocations and careful proofreading would strengthen control. Prefer natural phrases such as “a shortage of money” and “improve their circumstances,” and check the spelling of less familiar words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “if,” and “that,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “Our surroundings has” should use a plural verb, while “responsibilities holds back” also has a subject–verb agreement problem. In “a job that he do not even wants to do,” the verb forms do not agree with the subject, and “they should to develop” uses an incorrect infinitive pattern. There are also punctuation issues, such as the comma after “because” in the introduction. Review agreement and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly punctuated structure.
