Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many people tend to have different perspectives regarding whether they should be satisfied with whatever they have or they should keep trying more to ameliorate their lifestyle. The reason to argue on this is that people are tend to be constantly thoughtful about their lifestyles and upgrading their situation. This essay firmly stands with the latter viewpoint because people should always keep trying for their betterment rather than just accepting everything as it is.

Admittedly, acceptance is the true key to happiness.Nowadays, people are tend to have competitive mindset regarding their achievements which somehow make them feel insecure about their positions, power and many other aspects. To be truly happy in life people need to accept their positions and feel content about their jobs or financial limitations. If people are not able to feel fulfilled with whatever they have then this will cause jealousy, enviness and insecurity towards the previleged ones.Nevertheless, people will have many circumstances where they will feel envious towards others whereas, they can try to uplift their situation in order to have their dreams fulfilled. As the quote goes,"Failure is the pillar of success", people may fail to secure their desires but they should never stop trying hard to achieve their goals.People should never give up on their trying.Additionally, there are some qualities which will help people to stay motivated such as consistency, promising, hard working, spirituality and confidence.

From my perspective,I believe that, people should always remain consistent to work on themselves for getting better day by day, learn from their mistakes and try to fix those mistakes.Alleviating one's position is not a crime.People should be satisfied with their belongings but they should never stop trying for more better things ahead whether it is concerned with their lifestyles, their fashion and their goals. For instance,if a person is trying to provide financial stability for his family,he should be always focused on how to enhance his income more so that the members of the household will not have to face any uncertain economic unstablity or have to think of their future.

In conclusion,I think that people should have the constant thought about uplifting and do better to improve their current situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you favour trying to improve one’s circumstances, and you also explain why acceptance can support happiness and reduce insecurity. This addresses both views and includes a relevant example about increasing income to provide for a family. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the discussion of acceptance is more general, while the example for improvement is more specific. Some points, such as the list of qualities that sustain motivation, are asserted rather than explained or linked to the argument. To strengthen the response, explain when acceptance may be sensible and give a concrete illustration of how effort can improve a difficult situation, then connect each example directly to your opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph considering acceptance and effort, a paragraph stating your view with an example, and a conclusion. The reader can follow the main argument, and transitions such as “Admittedly,” “Nevertheless,” and “In conclusion” help signal direction. However, the first body paragraph moves quickly between contentment, envy, failure, and personal qualities, so the relationship between some ideas is not always clear. The conclusion also repeats your position without drawing together the two views. Improve progression by giving each paragraph a more focused purpose, using clearer links between claims and examples, and avoiding transitions that make a contrast where the ideas are not directly opposed.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “competitive mindset,” “financial limitations,” “financial stability,” and “uplifting” one’s position. There are also attempts at less common or formal expressions, such as “ameliorate” and “alleviating,” though some choices are inaccurate or unnatural in context. Examples include “keep trying more,” “enviness,” “previleged,” and “economic unstablity”; spelling and word-choice slips are noticeable but the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Some phrases, including “promising” in the list of personal qualities, do not express the intended idea clearly. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling: this will make your vocabulary more effective without requiring unnecessarily elaborate words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If people are not able to feel fulfilled … then this will cause…” and a relative clause in “a person who is trying to provide financial stability.” These choices allow you to express reasons and examples, and the overall meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, however. For example, “people are tend to have” should be “people tend to have,” while “people should be always focused” has awkward adverb placement. The opening sentence also joins alternatives without a clear grammatical structure, and punctuation around clauses and quotations is inconsistent. Review verb patterns, word order, and sentence boundaries, then proofread for agreement and punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
