Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is believed by some people that the best decision is to accept the bad situation rather than improving it. It could be due to the reason that they consider it as their fate. On the other hand, people argue that the better decision is to try and improve the bad situation. In my opinion, improving the bad situation by trying is the better option as this is the best way to be succesful.
Some people do not try to put efforts to improve their situation. They consider the situation as their fate. Many of the people think the God has written this bad situation for them and its their luck that can not be changed or improved. This is mere laziness. They are lazy enough to accept their failure and not to do any thing that can result in improvement. Specially the people who consider themselves religious but do not know much about religion bring this debate that all the bad situation can not be improved because it is their test from God and they have to be in this situation rather than trying to improve this.
On the other hand, sensible people believe in trying. They tend to improve their bad situations by trying again and again and such people are not even scared of failures because they take their failures as a lesson and to try other way around if one is not working. As a result, their situations improve. Many businesses work in this way, when they encounter failures they do not get demotivated. They make these failure a ladder to rise out of these bad situations as winners.and that is the reason for there success.
In conclusion, accepting bad situation is okay but not trying to improve it is is a bad decision. In my opinion, if people want to achieve success they must need to face the situation they are in and try to improve it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The discussion of acceptance is relevant, with the explanation that some people see hardship as fate or a test from God. However, this side is presented mainly as a criticism of people’s beliefs and laziness, rather than a balanced explanation of why accepting a situation might sometimes be reasonable. The argument for persistence is more developed through the example of businesses learning from failure, but it remains general and does not explain how this applies to an unsatisfactory job or financial hardship. Develop both perspectives more evenly and add a specific, relevant example to support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The contrast between the views is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent overall arrangement and shows some features of stronger progression. However, connections within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical, with repeated references to “bad situation” and “trying,” and some links between claims are not fully explained. The sentence about businesses moves quickly from failure to success without showing the steps in between. Improve cohesion by varying references, linking each example explicitly to the point, and checking punctuation around sentence boundaries.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including terms such as “fate,” “failures,” “improve,” and “demotivated.” There are also attempts at more expressive phrasing, such as “make these failure a ladder,” although this is not natural in English. The range is limited by repeated use of “bad situation,” “trying,” and “improve,” and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable: “put efforts,” “the God,” “succesful,” and “there success.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the argument, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Build a wider set of topic-specific expressions and check common collocations and spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple sentences and longer structures, including subordinate clauses such as “when they encounter failures” and “if one is not working.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “Many of the people think the God has written” needs a clearer clause structure and article use, while “all the bad situation” has a number-agreement problem. The conclusion also contains “it is is,” and the sentence beginning “They make these failure…” has agreement and punctuation issues that make its structure harder to follow. Aim to produce more consistently accurate complex sentences, and proofread for articles, singular/plural agreement, and sentence boundaries.
