Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response identifies the topic and gives a clear preference for trying to improve circumstances: “From my perspective, I believe that hardwork provides several better opportunities.” It also briefly refers to people who begin with “zero investment” and later become successful. However, the task asks you to discuss both accepting a difficult situation and trying to improve it, and the first view is not meaningfully explained. Your position is stated but not supported with a developed example or reasoning, and the response ends before the discussion is complete. The required minimum length is not met, which leaves major parts of the task unanswered. To improve, explain why some people accept hardship, develop the opposing view, and support your opinion with specific examples and consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces contrasting views, and the next paragraph states your opinion and gives a reason. Linking expressions such as “While,” “In addition,” and “After” show an effort to connect ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the first sentence is incomplete in structure, and the relationship between “hardwork,” “zero investment,” and becoming successful is not clearly explained. The final word, “More,” also leaves the response unfinished. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and make each paragraph develop one central point. Choose linking phrases that accurately show the relationship between ideas, then add explanation or an example so the progression is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial pressure,” “opportunities,” “attention,” and “consistency.” These choices help communicate the general subject and your preference for effort. However, the range is narrow, and several phrases are imprecise or unnatural, such as “balanced situations” and “unpleasant challenges become successful.” “Hardwork” is also written as one word, whereas the noun is normally “hard work.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning unclear. Build a more precise range for discussing hardship and improvement, such as “financial hardship,” “accept one’s circumstances,” and “overcome obstacles.” Check collocations and word forms, and use vocabulary to express specific ideas rather than repeating broad terms such as “opportunities” and “challenges.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts a complex contrast with “While other considered…,” and it includes a clear opinion sentence beginning “From my perspective.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and several errors affect clarity. For example, “lack of resources, unemployment and financial pressure is acceptable situation” has a subject–verb agreement problem and is missing an article; “While other considered” does not form a complete sentence; and “they faced so challenges” has an incorrect verb form and sentence construction. The sentence beginning “After” is also incomplete. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using subordinate clauses. Pay particular attention to articles, agreement, past-tense forms, and ensuring every sentence has a complete main clause.
