Student answer (Band 5.5)

People suffers from many things throughout the life. Our lives have many ups and downs , bad times and good times are the part of it.

People have thier different opinions about their perspective. Some people thinks bad situations are the part of life and sometimes we cannot afford and accept things specially for those things for which we tried so hard and this thing makes us very uncomfortable and dipressed sometimes. So these people thinks its a best approach to accept things in which we cannot get success after so much struggle and effort.

On the other hand, some people saw it from a very different perspective they say that we can achieve anything if we try again and again their main thinking perspective is that never loose hope if you cannot acheive something at first its ok lets boost yourself and make yourself ready for the challenge and this time work more and try hard to achieve it.They beleive that nothing is impossible if you dont loose hope things will be easier for you and you can acheive anything which seems hard to acheive.

In my opinion i think our way of thinking plays an important role in this case.If we think positive and take our failure in a positive way this will help us alot to encourage ourselves and we did not loose hope and we prepare ourself for a challenge to change our failures into success .I beleive we can acheive anything if we try hard hard so better to try is a wonderful strategy in this case.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the final paragraph. The contrast between accepting a situation after repeated effort and continuing to try is relevant to the prompt. However, the discussion remains general: the examples focus on failure and achievement rather than explaining the specific situations in the question, such as an unsatisfactory job or financial hardship. The reasons for accepting a bad situation are also only briefly stated, and your own position would be stronger if you explained when acceptance might be sensible and why effort is preferable in other cases. Develop each view with a concrete example and fuller reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In my opinion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive: the second view repeats the idea of trying again and not losing hope several times without adding a distinct supporting point. Some connections between ideas are also unclear, particularly in the long final paragraph, where the sequence from positive thinking to preparing for a challenge could be organised more explicitly. Use clearer topic sentences and divide longer sentences so each paragraph develops one main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “struggle,” “effort,” “failure,” and “success,” and phrases such as “ups and downs” make the opening accessible. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “achieve,” “try hard,” and “lose hope.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including “dipressed,” “beleive,” and “saw it from a very different perspective” where “see” is needed. Some expressions are awkward or imprecise, such as “this thing makes us very uncomfortable.” Build a wider set of accurate phrases for employment and financial difficulties, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use clauses to explain reasons, as in “if you cannot achieve something at first, it’s ok,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur in “People suffers,” “Some people thinks,” and “some people saw it,” while missing or incorrect articles appear in “its a best approach.” Several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation, particularly the paragraph beginning “On the other hand,” which makes the relationships between ideas harder to follow. The response relies heavily on simple patterns joined by “and” and “if.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, sentence boundaries, and a wider range of controlled complex structures.
