Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, people has to deal with difficult situations on the daily basis for their better survival. Certain individuals believe that the best way to tackel the situation is to accept it, while some people argue that it is better to try again and improve the situation and i totally agree with this viewpoint that we never have to give up on until we don't get your desire results. Let us further delve into the topic.

To commence with, some people think that best way to cope is to accept the bad circumstances, for instance, undesirable job which is not satisfying at all and unsufficient amount of money. Therefore, it decrease the confidence level and get guilty for the rest of life.

If the people start accepting their failure, then they never reach or fullfil their dreams, which is not beneficial for their mental health and causes some serious pyschological conditions such as, depression and anixiety.

On the other hand, some people argue that rather than accepting our bad journey or any unpleasant ending, if we restart again and improve our mistakes, we can easily manage the situation and get our desire life which we dream earlier. Also, it is far better to try again instead keeping the guilt inside you for the entire life.

To recapitulate it, i fully agree that investing time and money again is far better choice to meet our satisfaction level or beat the uncomplete or bad chapter of life, while it is less dificult than carrying emotional burden for the ages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the opening and conclusion. The discussion is relevant, but the ideas remain limited and are not developed with specific reasons or examples. For instance, you mention that accepting failure may harm mental health, but do not explain when acceptance might be sensible or how someone could practically improve an unsatisfactory job or financial situation. The opposing view is also presented mainly as a list of negative consequences rather than a balanced explanation of why people may choose acceptance. To strengthen the response, explain each position more fully and include a concrete example that supports your own view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding statement. Transitions such as “To commence with” and “On the other hand” help signal the change in viewpoint. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and some linking is mechanical or unclear. The opening sentence moves from difficult situations to survival without establishing the connection, while “Therefore” does not clearly follow from the example of an unsatisfactory job and insufficient money. The conclusion repeats the preference but does not draw together the discussion. Develop a clearer sequence of claim, explanation, and example in each body paragraph, and use referencing and transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “bad circumstances,” “confidence level,” “mental health,” and “emotional burden.” However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts of the response difficult to interpret. Examples include “tackel the situation,” “unsufficient amount of money,” “restart again,” and “get our desire life.” Spelling errors such as “fullfil,” “pyschological,” and “anixiety” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and avoid repeating broad terms such as “bad” and “situation.” For example, describe a “low-paid job” or “financial hardship,” then choose verbs that naturally fit the idea, such as “improve one’s circumstances.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If the people start accepting their failure, then they never reach…” and a contrastive clause beginning “while.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in agreement, articles, pronouns, and sentence construction. For example, “people has to deal” should use a plural verb, and “it decrease” should agree with its subject. The opening sentence also shifts from “people” to “i” and then “we,” making the viewpoint inconsistent. Punctuation and capitalisation are uneven, particularly in “On the other hand, some” and the lowercase “i.” Practise building accurate sentences first, then add complex clauses while keeping subjects and pronouns consistent.
