Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You introduce both perspectives and give relevant reasons: financial security can make people stay in an unsatisfactory job, while gaining skills may lead to better work. The example of someone supporting a family helps illustrate the first view. However, the response is incomplete: the second view is only briefly explained, there is no developed discussion of accepting a shortage of money, and your own opinion is not clearly stated. The opening promises to discuss your viewpoints, but does not identify what you believe. The response also falls 60 words short of the required minimum, which limits the space available to address the task. Develop both sides with specific support and state your position clearly in the introduction and conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction is followed by separate paragraphs presenting reasons for accepting a difficult situation and trying to improve it. Connectors such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “Furthermore” help signal the sequence, and the example about supporting a family is placed with the relevant point. However, the progression is not complete because the second body paragraph ends without an example or a concluding link, and there is no conclusion to bring the discussion together. Some transitions feel mechanical, particularly the repeated “to explicate,” and punctuation spacing makes the flow harder to follow. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, then add a final paragraph that summarises both views and your opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “financial stability,” “essential expenses,” “source of income,” and “professional growth.” These phrases show an effort to discuss employment and money beyond very basic terms. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are frequent enough to distract the reader, as in “envolving,” “unpleasent,” “emplyoment,” and “acqurining.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “financial encome” and “better carrer opportunity” do not communicate the intended ideas smoothly. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations as complete phrases, such as “improve one’s circumstances” and “pursue better career opportunities.” This would make your existing range clearer and more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “This is because a regular income enables them to pay for essential expenses” and the sentence beginning “For instance.” This shows some ability to connect ideas in complex structures. However, control is inconsistent, and several sentences contain faulty construction or punctuation. The opening is a fragment after “financial income,” while “one of the most significant arguments … is ‘financial stability’” is not smoothly integrated into the paragraph. Commas and full stops are often missing or incorrectly spaced, and the final sentence has an unclear structure around “by acquiring new skill.” Practise complete sentence patterns, especially topic sentences and clauses with “because” and “by,” and proofread punctuation.
