Student answer (Band 5.5)

While some people believe that it is best to accept a worst situation, such as an unhappy job or shortage of money, others argue that it us better to try and improving situation. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own view.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why we accept bad situation like unsatisfied jobs or money problem. The main reason is that we will definitely accept that in some situations. This is because in some cases we have no money for buying clothes, food or other stuff mainly we accept that situation u do not have any choice to ask other person for money. For example, no income and less money jobs. Moreover, jobs also same u do not have any choice so not loose job is worse and better to do unsatisfactory jobs, and this can move to safety life rather than dreaming a big jobs or more money. Therefore, we must accept and move on with less money and unsatisfactory job in bad condition.

On the other hand, there are also strong arguments in favour of to try and improve unsatisfactory job or shortage of money in bad conditions. One main reason is that we improve our situation in jobs or money income. This is because to improve skills and develop projects it will converted to better jobs and more income. For instance, a high salary job in IT companies. Furthermore, not interest or unsatisfactory jobs will change to your interested jobs will be very great, and this can be better live to work in favourable jobs. Therefore, to try and improve unsatisfactory job or shortage of money in bad situations is far better than to accept.

In conclusion, although it is best to accept in bad conditions has some advantages, and try to improve in that situations also has several important benefits. After considering both sides, I believe that in bad conditions we try to improve situations is good because if we improve where money will be less and try change to high income increases far better than accept a bad condition.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a clear preference for trying to improve difficult circumstances, especially in the conclusion. The response also includes relevant examples, such as developing skills to obtain better-paid work. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the reasons for accepting a bad situation are repeated rather than explained in depth, and “no income and less money jobs” does not clearly illustrate the point. The benefits of making changes are also asserted more than demonstrated. To strengthen the response, explain when acceptance may be necessary—for example, while someone searches for safer work—and show how a specific action could improve their prospects. The required length is met; 19 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: several sentences repeat the same claim, and the examples do not always connect logically to the reason they are meant to support. For instance, “For example, no income and less money jobs” is difficult to interpret. Some linking phrases, including repeated “This is because” and “Therefore,” feel mechanical. Build each paragraph around one clear reason, explain it, and then give a specific example that directly supports it; use pronouns and transitions with clear references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “shortage of money,” “improve skills,” and “high salary.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “bad situation,” “unsatisfactory job,” and “improve.” Some word choices and collocations are noticeably inaccurate or unclear, such as “unsatisfied jobs,” “safety life,” and “better live,” which can make the intended meaning harder to understand. Aim to learn vocabulary in natural combinations and choose precise terms for employment and financial circumstances. For example, “unsatisfactory job” could be expressed as “dissatisfying job,” while “safety life” would be clearer as “financial security.” Proofreading for word forms and spelling will also improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “although,” and “if.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “it us better to try and improving situation,” “we have no money for buying,” and “if we improve where money will be less.” These show problems with verb forms, sentence construction, and clause relationships. Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent, as in “accept bad situation” and “a big jobs.” Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check that verbs after “to” use the base form. Shorter, well-controlled sentences would help make your reasoning easier to understand.
