Student answer (Band 5.0)

Few indivuals assume that it is best to adapt a bad situation, like a job which is unsatisfying or having less money. Others debate that it is benefical to try and improve such circumstances.

First of all, i will discuss about first statement. On the one hand, some people adopt bad situation they don not work hard to get more. Some people have guts to do extraordinary works which turns to be benefical for themselves and also for the society. Some people start doing jobs which pay them little ammounts just to avoid the fear of unemployement as a result they always struggle to fulfil their basic necessities. For example in pakistan, many of the gradutes start their career as a teacher by giving lectures in schools and colleges. It does not matter that from which field of study they belonges to, because i have seen many designers and arts graduates teaching at the school. They have to taught basic science and math subjects rather than giving lactures on their field subjects. Most of the young people are unsatisfied with their jobs because they don not have any passion about their profession. They are just doing these jobs to produce money.

On the other hand, Some people debates that we should try to improve such situations. These people said that we should find solutions by helping the youth in the understandinf of unexpected jobs and improve these situations by motivating them and by making them more passionate about their work.

in conclusion, i would suggest that workshops and seminars were held occassionaly at workplaces which ultimately helps in the improvement of workers behaviour and attitude toward their work.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and offer a practical opinion in the conclusion: you suggest workshops and seminars to improve workers’ attitudes. The examples about Pakistani graduates teaching outside their fields also make the discussion relevant. However, the two sides are not developed evenly. The first view receives several examples, but the reasons why people should accept a difficult situation are not clearly explained; the response instead shifts toward dissatisfaction and lack of passion. The opposing view is stated mainly as a recommendation to motivate young people, without explaining how individuals can improve their circumstances or giving a supporting example. Make your position explicit earlier and develop each view with a clear reason and consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, with an opening, discussion of two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “in conclusion” help readers recognise the intended sections. However, progression within the paragraphs is not always clear. The first body paragraph moves from accepting a bad situation to doing extraordinary work, then to low-paid teaching and job dissatisfaction, without clearly connecting these points. The second view is brief and repeats the idea of improving situations without developing a sequence of reasons. Some linking phrases are also mechanical or confusing, including “First of all, i will discuss about first statement.” Organise each paragraph around one main idea, then explain and illustrate it in a logical order.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “unsatisfying,” “unemployement,” “basic necessities,” “passionate,” and “workshops and seminars.” This gives you enough language to communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “adopt bad situation,” “do extraordinary works,” and “produce money.” Spelling errors include “indivuals,” “benefical,” and “gradutes.” Aim for more natural topic-specific phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, describe people as “accepting a difficult situation,” say they “take on low-paid jobs,” and explain that they “earn a living” or “support themselves.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “Some people start doing jobs…” and a clause introduced by “because.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning unclear. Examples include “they don not work hard,” “they have to taught,” and “Some people debates.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in the lowercase “i” and the start of “in conclusion.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences with one clear main clause and correctly formed supporting clauses. Proofread for subject–verb agreement and consistent verb forms.
