Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often true that everyone face some difficulties in their work or daily life. Some individuals claim that accepting a bad situation is the best solution. On the other hand, some individuals believe that trying and improving such situations is the effective way. In this essay, i will explain the both views and state why i support the latter view.

On the one hand, people who accept the bad situations in their life because they have less confidence on themselves. In some situations like financial or work related, they think that they will never overcome these situation by themselves. If employees, for example, face some issues in work place, they do not quite this job and continue facing problems. Because they have less confidence to get another jobs. Closely linked to this situation is that they have less motivation as well as confidence. Sometimes they have noone to encourage them in such situations. For instance, earning members are demotivated to quite their jobs because they have to support their family by fanancially. Therefore, most individuals are accepting these situations to maintain their family and social life.

On the other hand, some people's try hard to improve their situations by their hard work and dedications. Most of the people have enough confidence on their hard work. For example, If emloyees face some issues about salary, than they will try to get another job in handsome salary. As a result, people have to enough confidence on their hard work which obviously pays off by overcome bad situaations. Similarly, it's related with future planning, People have to plan according to their goal. For instance, if they save some money for the future bad circumstances, they will never shortage of money also get enough financial support in every situations.

In conclusion, from my perspective peoper planning and enough confidence can overcome any situations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both views and make your position clear: the introduction says you support trying to improve difficult circumstances, and the conclusion reinforces this through planning and confidence. The examples about staying in a job to support a family and seeking better-paid work are relevant to the question. However, the discussion of acceptance is explained mainly through low confidence and motivation, while practical reasons—such as limited alternatives or immediate financial responsibilities—could be developed more fully. The improvement side also shifts from changing a job to saving money, without explaining how these actions address the same kinds of bad situations. Develop each view with clearer reasoning and a more specific example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “Closely linked to this situation” does not clearly identify which point it refers to, and the sentence beginning “As a result” repeats the idea of confidence rather than showing a distinct consequence. The examples and explanations could also be ordered more deliberately. Use linking phrases to show precise relationships—such as cause, contrast, or result—and make sure each sentence clearly builds on the previous one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “financial,” “motivation,” “confidence,” and “future planning.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “earning members” and “financial support,” but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural and can make the meaning less clear. Examples include “handsome salary,” “less confidence on themselves,” and “never shortage of money.” Spelling errors such as “fanancially,” “emloyees,” and “situaations” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable range of collocations for work and money, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Prefer natural phrases such as “a higher salary” and “lack confidence in themselves.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional examples such as “If employees… face some issues…” and a reason clause introduced by “because.” This gives the response some structural variety, but errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction remain noticeable. For example, “everyone face” should be “everyone faces,” and “these situation” needs a plural form. The opening of the first body paragraph, “people who accept the bad situations… because,” is not a complete, well-formed sentence. There are also problems with clause structure in “people have to enough confidence.” Review subject–verb agreement and ensure each sentence has a complete main clause; then check articles and singular/plural forms when editing.
